The base salary range for this position is dependent upon experience and location, ranging from: $103,939.2‬0- $129,924

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Senior Project Manager to join our dynamic program management office team. The ideal candidate will possess extensive knowledge in accounting, finance, budgeting, and advanced proficiency in Excel, Power BI, and Power Query. This role is critical in driving financial strategy, ensuring compliance, and optimizing financial performance for our Operational Smart Grids business area.

Key Responsibilities

  • Financial Planning and Analysis: Lead the development and implementation of financial strategies, budgets, and forecasts. Analyze financial data to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement.  Develop multi-year planning for operating and capital requirements and ensure alignment with revenue requirements and investment plans.
  • Accounting Management: Oversee all accounting operations including establishment of work breakdown structure, order use, transmission and distribution accounting adherence and financial reporting. Ensure accuracy and compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Procurement Strategy:  Develop a comprehensive OSG procurement strategy and timeline in alignment with budgets and forecasts and ensure timely execution. identify and analyze procurement needs based on organizational requirements.
  • Financial Reporting: Prepare and present comprehensive financial reports to senior management and stakeholders. Ensure timely and accurate reporting of financial results.
  • Data Analysis and Reporting: Utilize advanced Excel, Power BI, and Power Query to analyze financial data, create dashboards, and generate insightful reports. Provide actionable recommendations based on data analysis.
  • Internal Controls: Develop and maintain robust internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure financial integrity. Conduct regular audits and assessments to identify and mitigate risks.
  • Team Leadership: Lead and mentor a team of professionals. Foster a collaborative and high-performance work environment.

Required Qualifications

  • Education & Experience Required:
    • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field. CPA, CMA, or MBA preferred.7-10 years of experience in financial management, accounting, and tax. Proven track record in a senior finance role.
  • Skills/Abilities:
    • Experience: Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in financial management, accounting, and tax. Proven track record in a senior finance role.
    • Technical Skills: Advanced proficiency in Excel, Power BI, and Power Query. Strong knowledge of financial software and ERP systems.
    • Analytical Skills: Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities. Ability to interpret complex financial data and provide strategic insights.
    • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to present financial information clearly and concisely to various stakeholders.
    • Leadership: Demonstrated leadership and team management skills. Ability to motivate and foster support as part of a high-performing team.
    • Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy and attention to detail in financial reporting and analysis.
    • Energizing leader that possesses strong interpersonal communication and facilitation skills, be detail-oriented, thorough and results-focused.
    • Self-starter able to work well in new and undefined environments.
    • Strong skills in following up and following through with action items and dependencies.
    • Adept at putting together business cases to support project and program objectives.
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including formal presentation skills.
    • Possess the ability to work across organizational lines within the company and influence key internal executives and line managers.
    • Must be able to support and drive implementation of the agreed-upon strategies.
    • Flexible and willing to step up to take on tasks beyond a job description as required.
    • Lead the development of organizational metrics and reporting frameworks.
    • Drive a practice of continuous improvement - using data to drive constant improvement efficiency.
  • Experience/Training:
    • Proven track record of being a strong team player with a results oriented attitude.
    • Utilization of risk management to ensure achievement of results.
    • Proven ability to work within a matrix environment, including geographically dispersed teams.
    • Demonstrated experience in leading large teams.
    • Experience leading implementation of complex initiatives/projects.
    • Demonstrated understanding of utility operations, stakeholders and customer interaction.
    • Direct experience in business case development and benefits capture.
    • Demonstrated experience in the execution of strategic objectives.
    • Proven track record of achieving results in high pressure and high profile assignments.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Masters Degree Preferred
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification preferred
  • Change Management PROSCI
