The Role

About Your Role:

As the Sr. Agile Project Manager in our service-based PMO, you will work closely with your development teams in strengthening our Scrum and Kanban practices while bringing visibility to progress. 

You will act as the guardian of the team, making sure that everyone can focus on their work in order to deliver projects efficiently. You will be the expert in agile practice and how to apply it effectively with an agile mindset, ensuring that the product owner and development team stay within the Agile framework. By extension, you will coach the other team members on how to use particular agile practice in the most effective manner.

About Your Contributions:

  • You will work with multiple cross-functional development teams in order to deliver initiatives. 

  • You will align your efforts with the services our PMO provides. These include: Initiative Delivery, Agile Coaching, Process Improvement, etc.

  • You will monitor the health of development cycles, and initiative projections while maintaining consistent communication around risks and timelines..

  • You will help teams to optimize the flow of work by removing impediments, running effective retrospectives, collecting and sharing metrics, and cultivating a culture of continuous improvement.

  • You will track and communicate initiative status, dependencies, risks & their mitigation plans and timelines as appropriate for the respective audience

  • You will facilitate communication and forward progress within the team including breakout sessions, identifying milestones, decision making, removing blockers and maintaining focus.

  • You will help setup and organize work and documentation in systems including Jira, Confluence, Google, etc. to provide clarity and transparency around the work being done.

  • You will help foster a healthy and collaborative team culture.

  • You will assess the Scrum maturity of the team and organization and coach the team to high performance, at a pace that is sustainable and comfortable for the team and organization.

  • You will partner with product management and engineering to participate in program increment planning sessions and create short- and longer-term roadmaps and release plans, contributing to roadmap alignment with other teams.

About You:

  • You are a self-starter, problem solver, communicative, facilitative, assertive, situationally aware, enthusiastic, and continually improving.

  • You value transparency, are able to foster a cohesive team culture, and strive to empower your teams.

  • You have strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to resolve conflicts and foster alignment with individuals and teams.

  • You are well-versed in and a proponent of the Agile principles and manifesto and able to balance it with a drive to organize, plan and forecast, and being flexible enough to adapt practices to specific teams and the organization.

  • You have an understanding of the fundamentals of full lifecycle software development processes and procedures.

  • You have a strong ability to communicate in and outside the team on projects, timelines, risks & dependencies, process and technical issues with peers and with executive stakeholders.

  • You have experience playing the Scrum Master role for a software development team that was diligently applying Scrum principles, practices, and theory. 

  • You have experience with a range of tools, and can learn to configure everything from an index card to JIRA integrations.

  • You have 3+ years of experience as a project manager.

  • You have 3+ years experience as a Scrum Master for software development teams.

  • Experience, insight, enthusiasm, and ability to learn eclipses classroom learning and certifications.
