Senior Project Manager

Motorola Solutions is seeking a Senior Project Manager to lead the implementation of complex, mission-critical communication system projects. The Senior Project Manager serves as the primary point of contact for all project phases, ensuring deliverables are completed on schedule, within budget, and to customer specifications.

1. Project Leadership & Execution

• Direct and coordinate cross-functional project teams (System Engineers, Field Engineers, Field Service, and Service Shops) as well as third-party vendors for seamless project delivery.
• Lead large-scale programs or complex components of larger enterprise communication initiatives.
• Allocate required resources in coordination with Scheduling and Engineering Management to meet corporate financial and operational goals.
• Direct project close-out activities and facilitate smooth operational handoffs.

2. Planning, Governance & Financial Control

• Develop, maintain, and execute baseline project plans, tracking deliverables, milestones, and critical path activities.
• Manage the core triple constraints: Scope/Quality, Cost, and Time.
• Utilize standard PM tools (critical path analysis, action item logs, change orders, risk matrices) to resolve complex issues proactively.
• Manage project financials, including budget establishment, variance auditing, pre-tax profit optimization, and revenue forecasting.
• Drive change management by controlling scope, schedule, and cost adjustments.

3. Stakeholder Management & Communication

• Act as the primary point of contact for external customer organizations and internal senior executive stakeholders.
• Conduct regular project reviews, status meetings, and performance reporting.
• Build and maintain relationships across multi-organizational environments to ensure strong alignment and customer satisfaction.

4. Quality Assurance & Continuous Improvement

• Apply PMBOK principles and Six Sigma methodologies to drive operational effectiveness and process efficiency.
• Continuously refine internal project management practices and frameworks.

Education & Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree with 4+ years of project management experience, or 7+ years of progressive experience in project management, system engineering, or a related field.
• Experience forecasting and driving project revenue.
• Technical domain experience in at least one of the following: Public Safety communications systems (e.g., Motorola Solutions ASTRO 25), Two-way radio/Cellular infrastructure, Military communications, IT Networks, Civil construction

Preferred Qualifications & Certifications:

• Project Management Professional (PMP) is highly desired.
• Familiarity with Motorola Solutions ASTRO 25 systems or Field System Integration experience.
• Industry experience working with local public safety (police, fire, EMS) or federal government agencies.

Candidate Requirements:

• Must be a U.S. citizen with ability to obtain necessary security clearance as required by government contract(s).
• 25-50% travel required throughout territory to support assigned projects

Target Base Salary Range: $110,000 - $130,000 USD
