Job DescriptionThe client is seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to oversee complex heavy highway, bridge, and civil construction projects throughout Colorado. This individual will manage projects from preconstruction through completion while leading project teams, mentoring junior Project Managers and Engineers, and supporting alternative delivery pursuits. The role requires extensive experience managing CDOT projects, self-perform work, subcontractors, project finances, and field operations.
Key Responsibilities- Lead heavy highway, bridge, and civil construction projects from initiation through closeout.
- Manage project budgets, schedules, cost reports, and overall financial performance.
- Maintain a thorough understanding of owner contracts and project specifications.
- Coordinate field operations and work closely with Superintendents and Project Engineers.
- Review and approve subcontractor pay applications, invoices, and project expenditures.
- Manage subcontract administration, procurement, purchase orders, change orders, and claims.
- Monitor project schedules and ensure milestones are achieved.
- Utilize Vista (Viewpoint) and HCSS HeavyJob for project documentation and cost management.
- Mentor Project Managers and Engineers while supporting team development.
- Participate in alternative delivery pursuits and proposal development.
- Minimum 10+ years of heavy highway, bridge, or civil construction experience in Colorado.
- 4+ years of construction experience (minimum screening requirement).
- Strong knowledge of CDOT standards, specifications, and roadway construction practices.
- Proven experience managing subcontractors, self-perform work, and contract administration.
- Experience with Vista (Viewpoint) and HCSS HeavyJob software is preferred.
- Strong leadership, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects while maintaining quality, safety, and budget objectives.
Skills Required
- Minimum 10+ years heavy highway, bridge, or civil construction experience in Colorado.
- At least 4+ years of construction experience (screening requirement).
- Strong knowledge of CDOT standards, specifications, and roadway construction practices.
- Proven experience managing subcontractors, self-perform work, and contract administration.
