Key responsibilities of this role will include:
- Team Growth and Leadership: Collaborate with corporate staff and management to build a high-performing roadway design engineering team; As the team grows, lead and manage a team or teams, including engineers and technicians. Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior team members. Foster a positive workplace culture, exemplifying the company’s core values. Ensure the professional growth and development of department team members. Guide the team to deliver high-quality results.
- Project Management and Delivery: Manage local agency and DOT roadway design projects. Ensure project deliverables are completed on time and within budget. Lead the planning, execution, and delivery of roadway design projects. Plan, organize, and direct activities of project teams and/or direct reports, including project management, design, and construction oversight. Perform QC/QA as needed.
- Business Development and Client Relations: Coordinate with the Roadway Discipline Leader and Regional Leader to develop and implement strategies for regional market penetration. Develop new client relationships and seek out opportunities for new business with local agency and DOT clients. Represent the company at industry events and expand the company’s brand recognition within the region. Collaborate with the company’s other service lines to effectively promote our capabilities and cross-sell services. Coordinate with clients, stakeholders, and regulatory agencies to ensure compliance with regulations and specifications.

Qualifications for this role:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Civil Engineering
- Professional Engineer (PE)
- 12+ years of progressive experience in roadway design with extensive ODOT experience
- Demonstrated leadership capabilities
- Experience with project management and accounting software
- Exceptional organization skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office products including: Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work individually or as part of a team
