As a Senior Project Manager for Power Systems / IPG business, you will have full accountability for the successful execution of complex power generation projects from contract award through customer acceptance. You will lead multifunctional teams, manage executive customer and internal relationships, drive commercial outcomes, and ensure safe, predictable, and profitable project delivery.
You will serve as a key leader within the Project Management organization, mentoring project managers, supporting business strategy, and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives across the Power business.
As a Senior Project Manager, you will be responsible for:
- Strategic Project Leadership: Leading the execution of large-scale and strategically important power generation projects, ensuring alignment with contractual commitments, business objectives, and customer expectations. Providing overall leadership throughout the project lifecycle, from project handover through commissioning and final acceptance.
- Customer & Stakeholder Management: Building and maintaining strong relationships with customer leadership and key stakeholders. Acting as the primary escalation point for project-related commercial, operational, and contractual matters. Driving customer satisfaction and fostering long-term partnerships that support repeat business opportunities.
- Commercial & Financial Ownership: Owning overall project financial performance, including revenue, margin, cash collection and forecasting. Identifying and driving opportunities to enhance project profitability through optimized execution and commercial negotiations. Leading project reviews and providing accurate forecasts to senior/executive leadership.
- Operational Excellence & Continuous Improvement: Driving best practices, lessons learned, and process improvements across the project portfolio. Supporting business transformation initiatives aimed at improving project predictability, customer satisfaction, and financial performance.
- Risk & Opportunity Management: Establishing comprehensive risk management strategies to proactively identify and mitigate technical, commercial, supply chain, and execution risks. Driving opportunity management initiatives to improve project outcomes and create additional customer value.
- Coaching & Mentorship: Providing guidance and mentoring to project managers and project teams.
- Cross-Functional Leadership: Leading and influencing multifunctional teams across engineering, sourcing, manufacturing, logistics, site services, commissioning, finance, quality, and commercial operations. Creating a culture of accountability, collaboration, inclusion, and continuous improvement.
- Site Execution & Commissioning Leadership: Supporting critical project milestones, including installation, commissioning, performance testing, and customer acceptance activities. Ensuring safe, timely, and compliant execution at customer sites.
Fuel your passion
To be successful in this role you will have:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, Energy Systems, or related discipline), Business Administration, Project Management, or a related field from an accredited university. An advanced degree (MBA or Master's degree) is a plus.
- Significant experience managing complex industrial, infrastructure, energy, or power generation projects (min 5 years)
- Proven track record of delivering large capital projects while meeting financial, schedule, quality, and customer objectives.
- Strong expertise in commercial management, contract administration, claims, and change order execution.
- Demonstrated success managing executive-level customer relationships and navigating complex stakeholder environments.
- Experience leading multifunctional and geographically dispersed teams in a global project environment.
- Strong understanding of project management methodologies, governance frameworks, and execution processes; PMP, PMI, or equivalent certification is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of gas turbine technology, power generation systems, modular power solutions, EPC projects, or related industrial applications is preferred.
- Excellent leadership, communication, negotiation, and influencing skills.
- Willingness to travel internationally as required.
