The role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to lead a fixed fee cloud migration project. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in managing large-scale, complex projects and will work closely with client stakeholders, business users, and cross-functional delivery teams. This role involves partnering with the Program Manager to track milestones and effectively communicate project status to both internal and external stakeholders.

Role responsibilities

  • Lead internal and external teams through a robust cloud migration process
  • Organize and lead all necessary team meetings, including planning, daily standups, reviews, and retrospectives.
  • Create and track delivery plans that account for cross-team dependencies and provide a consistently updated view into anticipated milestone delivery dates
  • Coach the team on estimation techniques, cross-functionality, and self-organization
  • Identify, manage, and mitigate project issues and risks
  • Ensure transparency into the team’s work using the backlog, burndown charts, and other metrics.
  • Lead by example, knowing when and how to push for more results and proactively removing impediments.
  • Promote effective delivery methodologies among the project team and client stakeholders.
  • Influence software development lifecycles, working with both business and technology teams.
  • Translate business requirements into tasks that can be tracked for development needs.

Minimum qualifications

  • Fixed Fee Management: Proven ability to manage budget, forecast, margin, and utilization in a fixed fee setting.
  • Experience: 8+ years in a delivery leadership role within a software development environment, with additional product experience being a plus.
  • Consulting Experience: 5+ years in consulting.
  • Team Leadership: Experience leading global engineering focused teams
  • Data and Reporting: Deep understanding of empirical data needed for stakeholder reporting and team measurement.
  • Tools Proficiency: Experience working with project management software such as Jira or Azure Dev Ops.
  • Communication: Ability to effectively communicate project progress to set stakeholder expectations and track the completion of fixed fee milestones

Preferred qualifications

  • Certifications: PMP or other relevant certifications.
  • SDLC Knowledge: Familiarity with traditional Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) processes.
  • Industry Experience: Prior experience in the Financial Services industry.
  • Transparency and Trust: Proven ability to bring transparency to the business team, demonstrating commitment to deliverables.
  • Continuous Improvement: Experience in identifying delivery issues and risks and a proactive approach to driving continuous improvement.
