What we’re looking for: 

We are seeking a dynamic and results-driven Senior Project Manager, Continuous Improvement to lead process optimization initiatives across our organization. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in process improvement methodologies, including Lean, Six Sigma, and operational excellence frameworks, and will focus on driving efficiency, quality, and value. Nexamp is investing in process and organizational transformation efforts to build on our success in becoming the largest fully integrated Distributed Generation and Community Solar company in the U.S. You will join a growing team focused on helping us further scale the business in an efficient manner. 

We are accepting candidates in Chicago, IL, where you will be hybrid. You will report to the Director, Operations Enablement.

What you’ll do:  

  • Lead process optimization projects from start to finish, identifying inefficiencies, analyzing root causes, and implementing innovative solutions; apply Lean, Six Sigma, and other proven methodologies to redesign processes, ensuring alignment with strategic business objectives and delivering measurable performance improvements.  
  • Work cross-functionally to uncover pain points, improve workflows, and increase operational effectiveness; build lasting relationships with stakeholders and leverage those relationships to drive faster and more effective projects over time.  
  • Communicate project progress clearly and consistently, ensuring stakeholders always have visibility into timelines, milestones, and key decisions through structured updates and documentation. 
  • Leverage data analysis and reporting to effectively identify, evaluate and track long-term impact of projects; identify areas of the business where data is lacking, and lead the charge in building relevant data infrastructure. 
  • Track key performance metrics to measure the impact of process improvement initiatives, providing regular updates to senior leadership and recommending further refinements as necessary. 
  • Be a champion for continuous improvement by mentoring team members, providing training in process improvement tools and methodologies, and promoting best practices throughout the organization. 
  • Keep projects organized and well-documented, creating process workflows, SOPs, and reports that ensure alignment, knowledge retention, and smooth execution across teams. 
  • Facilitate workshops & working sessions, including process mapping, value stream analysis, and kaizen events, to drive meaningful change. 
  • Explore emerging technologies such as automation tools and new ways to leverage data, to drive digital transformation and operational excellence. 

What you’ll bring: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Operations Management, or a related field; a Master’s degree in a relevant discipline is preferred. 
  • 5+ years of experience in process improvement, operational excellence, or a related field, with a proven track record of leading successful initiatives in growing organizations. 
  • Exceptional project management skills, with experience managing complex, multi-phase initiatives involving diverse teams and stakeholders across various departments. 
  • Demonstrated ability to work in fast-paced environments, balancing multiple priorities and driving results under pressure while maintaining attention to detail.  
  • Ability to analyze processes, identify inefficiencies, and implement structured improvements using data-driven decision-making. 
  • Experience with Lean, Six Sigma, or similar process improvement methodologies (knowledge of DMAIC, Kaizen, Value Stream Mapping, or Agile is a strong plus). 
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all organizational levels, including executives, managers, and frontline employees. 
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with proficiency in process mapping, root cause analysis, and data-driven decision-making. 
  • Familiarity with digital transformation concepts and experience implementing automation or system integration projects is a strong advantage.

  • Demonstrated experience in effectively communicating information, ideas, and perspectives with people inside and beyond your organization.   
  • Experience in showcasing initiative to make improvements to current work, processes, products, and services across the organization. We value accountability and an ownership mentality. 
  • Ability to ask appropriate questions, analyze data, identify the root causes of problems, and present creative solutions. 
  • Expertise in building strong internal and external relationships with customers and stakeholders, instilling trust and loyalty across the industry. 
  • Eagerness to develop a fundamental understanding of how Nexamp operates and then apply that knowledge effectively to inform business decisions.

Compensation

The reasonably estimated salary for this role at Nexamp ranges from $105,000 - $150,000.  In addition to base salary, the competitive compensation package may include, depending on the role, participation in an incentive program linked to performance (for example, annual bonus programs based on individual and company performance, non-annual sales incentive plans, or other non-annual incentive plans). Additionally, you may be eligible to participate in the Company’s stock option plan. Actual base salary may vary based upon, but is not limited to, skills and qualifications, internal equity, performance, and geographic location.
