This position will work on a wide variety of highway improvement projects, interstate and toll capacity projects, alternative contracting and as needed assist the regional leadership with development of PD&E projects for the highway sector.

The Impact You'll Make:

  • Under general direction, perform civil engineering design and analysis on projects for our public sector clients
  • Collaborating with junior staff and assisting in the direction of other technical staff to produce quality designs and plans and interpreting plans from other engineering related disciplines (survey, utility, etc.)
  • Assist with the development of Preliminary Engineering Reports and PD&E Concept Plans.
  • Assist and participate in marketing pursuits including proposal writing, research and presentation development.
  • Developing construction documents, estimates and assisting with construction administration services
  • Serving as a Task Manager, Assistant Project Manager, or Project Manager with responsibilities that include budget and schedule management as well as some client interaction
  • Assisting Senior Project Manager with oversight and management of major highway capacity projects including design bid build, design build and P3 work.
  • Coordination of engineering design staff and other disciplines to meet objectives.
  • Assist with monitoring financial progress and scheduling of major infrastructure projects.

The Expertise You'll Bring:

  • Bachelor's degree in civil engineering
  • 8-12 years of strong experience in design and construction plan production. Experience with tolled express lanes and/or interstate capacity improvements a plus.
  • Strong technical skills with the desire to participate and grow in the management of complex surface transportation projects.
  • Experience with alternative contracting a plus.
  • PE license or the ability to obtain a PE license within 6 months of hire
  • Experience with FDOT / NCDOT processes a plus
  • MicroStation ORD experience
  • Ability to work independently at times and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills required to build relationships with team members.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills
  • Ability to effectively coordinate and collaborate with in-house task teams, subconsultant and prime consultant partners.
