Senior Programs Manager - Strategic Procurement Programs

A healthier future. It’s what drives us to innovate. To continuously advance science and ensure everyone has access to the healthcare they need today and for generations to come. Creating a world where we all have more time with the people we love. That’s what makes us Roche.

Healthcare is evolving, and Global Procurement is responding by continuously striving for the highest possible performance, taking innovative and strategic approaches to business and supplier partnerships.  Global Procurement proactively manages the entire supplier ecosystem, making a vital contribution to improving health outcomes, reducing costs for patients and global healthcare systems, and ensuring that Roche continues doing now what patients need next.

The Opportunity:

This role sits within the Strategic Procurement Programs team in the Strategy and Solutions Chapter. Our purpose is to shape strategic priorities, advance value delivery through solutions and digital excellence, strengthen governance and compliance, and drive sustainability — ultimately increasing Global Procurement’s impact across Roche. The Strategic Procurement Programs team leads complex procurement-led programs that deliver high impact benefits for Roche and result in a step change in how we work with suppliers, use technology, partner with the business or collaborate with each other in Procurement.

As a Senior Programs Manager - Strategic Procurement Programs, you will partner with colleagues across Global Procurement and the wider Roche organization to accelerate the delivery of strategic programs. You will lead complex, transformational initiatives that improve the effectiveness, efficiency, and customer experience of Global Procurement, while contributing directly to business success and enterprise profitability.

  • Lead the end-to-end execution of strategic procurement programs, including large-scale, cross-category cost-out initiatives, digital and AI adoption, and procurement strategy implementation.
  • Partner with Procurement, Finance, Business stakeholders, and other functions in a matrix environment to identify needs, build compelling cases for change, prioritize initiatives, and deliver measurable outcomes.
  • Serve as a program, project, or workstream leader; a trusted peer and coach; or a subject-matter lead, depending on the program’s needs.
  • Establish clear program governance, plans, milestones, risks, dependencies, performance measures, and value-realization mechanisms.
  • Design and embed change management strategies that enable behavioral change, stakeholder alignment, and sustained adoption of new ways of working.
  • Apply Global Procurement capabilities, tools, and approaches to strengthen program delivery and continuously improve procurement excellence.
  • Advance project- and change-management capabilities across the team by sharing practical expertise, coaching colleagues, and promoting effective methodologies and best practices.
  • Act as a role model for curiosity, enterprise thinking, inclusive collaboration, entrepreneurial spirit, and continuous learning.

Who you are:

  • You hold a university degree, preferably in business, engineering or technology.
  • Previous procurement, project management, or management consulting experience, ideally within a  matrix organisation.
  • You have successfully led or supported large-scale transformation and cost-out programs across multiple procurement categories.
  • You combine strong business and financial acumen with the ability to develop robust business cases and translate strategy into measurable value.
  • You have deep practical knowledge of program and project-management methodologies and are comfortable leading cross-functional teams through ambiguity and change.
  • You have a good understanding of end-to-end procurement processes, technologies and operating models.
  • You can quickly build credibility in new subject areas, apply transferable expertise, and add value even when you are not the day-to-day functional owner.
  • You are an effective communicator, able to manage stakeholders effectively, tailor messages for different audiences and influence decisions and change at all organizational levels.
  • You are data-driven, with strong data and AI literacy, and can use insights to identify opportunities, quantify value, guide decisions, and manage program performance.
  • You demonstrate curiosity, active listening, and a willingness to experiment and test new ideas when appropriate, with the focus on continuous learning and improvement.
  • Experience in Design Thinking methodology, service design and operating model design is an advantage.
