Job Summary: The work location for this position is Dahlgren, Virginia, where we have provided support to the customer for over 50 years! Amentum is seeking a Senior Program Manager with engineering, scientific, business or technical discipline and/or equivalent experience to support software system engineering efforts in support of Naval projects at Dahlgren, VA. You will be part of our growing systems & software engineering team and contribute to our diverse skillsets across multiple software and systems engineering contracts in support of our Software Center of Excellence. We are looking for individuals to join our team atmosphere that are eager to make a difference by solving complex Digital Engineering challenges. Successful candidates must possess excellent communication skills and interact directly with customers and engineering personnel.

Education Requirements: A bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in an engineering, scientific, business or technical discipline.

Minimum Requirements: 15 years of experience

-Candidate must be able to obtain and maintain a DoW security clearance.

-Must have a valid driver’s license and be able to drive on and off base.

Specialized Experience:

-10 years of demonstrated management experience or project level management in DoW major systems.

-5 years of program acquisition Life-Cycle process experience as addressed in the DoD 5000 series instructions.

-5 years of experience as the primary point of contact for project tasking, including formulating, guiding, and directing the technical approach, defining and negotiating with field activities and program office personnel for necessary resources, and establishing and controlling technical milestones, schedules, and costs for day-to-day execution.

-5 years of experience as a program manager leading a team of skilled professional, technical, and support personnel.

Preferred Qualifications: 

-Experience with Software Life-Cycle processes such as Agile and Waterfall, development environments, and service-based contracts.

Skills Required

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, scientific, business, or technical discipline from an accredited college or university.
  • 15 years of experience.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Department of the Navy (DoW) security clearance.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to drive on and off base.
