The Senior Program Manager will lead our Digital Asset Management (DAM) system and related activities by both defining and executing the vision for asset and content management in partnership with Marketing, Brand & Technology teams.

The DAM system at Schwab serves multiple use cases for marketing across print and digital channels. It is a source of truth for over 500k reusable assets to enable workflow efficiencies through automation and governance resulting in speed to market, improved customer experiences and risk mitigation. It includes a wide range of assets, multiple technical integrations and supports a network of partners who contribute to and use those assets, as well as over 12 brand and design system guidelines including governance and guidance resources.

This role will be a driving force for the success for asset and content management strategies and platforms and related program operations as part of the Marketing Technology Planning and Enablement (MTPE) team. MTPE is a dynamic, cross-discipline team dedicated to building and optimizing the full Marketing Technology eco-system, ensuring better client experiences that drive business results at scale.

What you'll do:

Your primary responsibility is to define the vision of the DAM as a strategic enabler for asset and content management end to end (creation, adaptation, storage, distribution, and tracking) and manage implementation of the DAM roadmap, to achieve near and long-term goals to mitigate risk, drive operational efficiency and support brand consistency.

Activities include:

  • Defining, communicating, and implementing the strategic vision of the platform for various audiences at different levels across the organization, and management/delivery of a roadmap aligned to the strategic vision.
  • Change management for improved governance and op model across teams and disciplines, along with developing and maintaining all necessary documentation, resources, and reference materials
  • Standing up the right resources and organizing cross-team work across the DAM core team, Developers, API owners, Asset Contributors, and other System Users, as well as the 3rd party software vendors.
  • Managing a product backlog (taxonomy, access, issue resolution, etc.) to mitigate risk and ensure successful asset and guidelines management, platform build and ongoing optimization.
  • Tracking performance, reporting, and supporting communications across partners and user groups.
  • Stays on top of industry trends and competitive research for enterprise level DAMs to ensure long term success and innovation for a competitive edge.

The ideal candidate is a seasoned product owner who understands DAM platforms and technical eco-systems (preferably in context of marketing), is highly organized and has experience in managing complex, strategic programs with the ability to coordinate and motivate multiple stakeholders to achieve outcomes.

Top 3 Responsibilities:

  1. Strategy & Implementation: You'll own and implement the DAM strategy which serves as the blueprint for how Schwab handles digital assets and content throughout their lifecycle, encompassing a range of activities, from intake and storage to taxonomy/metadata management, retrieval, distribution and archival. You'll lead and manage the DAM platform and related program activities (planning, delivering, tracking, driving alignment efforts and communications across working teams and leadership) as part of the Marketing Technology eco-system in collaboration with the Program Director. You're proactive and able to thrive and navigate in ambiguity, ask strategic questions, challenge assumptions, and ensure focus on objectives plus balance near and long-term goals. You have experience bridging the gap between technology integrations and business strategy using data/analytics to assess value and level of effort. You deliver data-driven solutions that align executives and stakeholders and can effectively translate business imperatives into product vision and roadmaps, set priorities and guide work, engaging a range of experts - Developers, Architects, Taxonomists, Creative Contributors, Agencies and Marketers.
  2. Technical Expertise: You'll lead the DAM system (preferred experience with Bynder), including technology strategy and operations. You'll work with partners and vendors to build and optimize critical functionality, software and systems including inbound/outbound API integrations, Taxonomy, Metadata, CDNs, and guide integrations with related marketing platforms such as: Front/Back-end CMSs, SalesForce, Marketo, etc. You have a strong grasp of Agile values and principles and software development and technology. Experience with technical eco-systems (preferably for marketing use cases) - specifically digital asset management, content management, product strategy, technical development, taxonomy/metadata, governance, and operations.
  3. Cross-Functional Work Coordination: You'll define and uphold governance and requirements for developers, contributors and users of the DAM platform and lead processes/workflows for efficiency and effective asset management. You'll collaborate with the DAM team, Business Manager & Taxonomist on planning and coordination interfacing with stakeholders to gather strategies, priorities, data/insights and requirements. You'll coordinate multiple tracks of work for the DAM platform and asset management as a gate keeper and authority to ensure platform effectiveness, health & maintenance near and long term.

What you have

Required:

  • Experience with Schwab marketing processes either as a contractor or associate.
  • Experience as a digital product owner of a cloud-based software application, including evaluation of opportunities, defining, and delivering new capabilities within the platform or via integration with other technologies, agile methodologies, problem solving, and motivation to unlock scale and efficiency via technology solutions.
  • Demonstrated experience working with DAM systems (preferred experience with Bynder), including technology, strategy, and operations.
  • Technical expertise in software development and capabilities relevant to DAM platforms, such as asset intake and storage, taxonomy/metadata management, retrieval, distribution and archival including governance, and operations.
  • Successful examples driving multi-channel programs in a highly matrixed environment with distributed ownership including the ability to clarify roles, responsibilities, process and influence leaders and colleagues.
  • Experienced in agile principles and expertise in agile project management thorough understanding and appreciation for the Agile values and principles and tools like Confluence & JIRA.
  • Proficiency with collaboration tools and basic business applications including Adobe Acrobat, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc. Workfront, SharePoint and Teams.

  • Critical Thinking & Analysis: Ability to gather information from multiple sources (internal, primary, and secondary research) and synthesize them to uncover trends that draw out relevant and actionable conclusions.
