Overview
As a Senior Program Manager, you successfully usher our programs through their lifecycle. In collaboration with our delivery teams, you will draft project plans while managing scope and risk mitigation. You will help manage and flag the varying constraints in people, time, and budget that may affect program delivery. With a sharp eye to financial forecasts and project timelines, you ensure our program delivery experience is seamless, efficient, and enjoyable for internal teams and clients alike.
A Senior Program Manager is expected to work on programs with limited managerial oversight and assist in the development of improved processes, procedures, and documentation tools for the team.
Responsibilities
- Support the service delivery or product delivery team(s) in managing resources, projects and budgets to meet the goals of the business and clients
- Assist and draft project documentation, including budget reports, and project status updates, and other necessary documentation
- Oversee program budget by monitoring how budget is being utilized and expended in the context of the program plan
- Ensure project timelines and deliverables are met at each stage
- Support alignment and collaboration among project delivery teams and between VGV and the client
- Maintain processes to ensure project management documentation, reports and plans are relevant, accurate, and complete
- Determine and set team(s) collaboration style and cadence
- Decision tracking and information dissemination
- Ensure smooth on-boarding and off-boarding of program resources
- Anticipate and troubleshoot budgetary, staffing, or sequencing risks arising in project delivery
- Communicate with client as necessary to ensure a smooth delivery experience, specifically as the first point of contact for questions on program timeline, status, budget, progress, and escalations
- Manage responsibility for multiple clients and projects concurrently
- Utilize Agile methodologies in your work
- Help establish and manage a project methodology incorporating structures, standards, processes, documentation, and reporting
- Improve processes, policies, and standards of project management
- Provide training and education on standard project management

Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in project, product, or program management roles
- Experience in program management roles within an agency or in-house setting
- Experience in project documentation e.g. SOW, budget reports, project status updates, etc
- Full proficiency in English (C1 level or higher)
- Availability to work within United States Eastern or Central time zones
- Demonstrated ability to prioritize and organize work effectively
- Proactive communication and strong problem-solving skills
- Strong presence with good relationship-building and interpersonal skills
- Previous primary responsibility for differing budgetary models (fixed fee, T&M)
- Experience managing concurrent multi-phased projects and dependencies
- Proficiency of Google or Microsoft workspace tools
- Pilot internal special projects as needed
Nice to Have
- Familiarity with Jira, Azure Dev Ops, Aha, FigJam, or similar project management tools and platforms
- Familiarity with Agile methodologies
