STR is hiring a Senior Program Financial Analyst who will support all aspects of program planning. The Senior Program Finance Analyst is responsible for providing financial analysis and support to program management teams to ensure the financial success of programs and projects. This role involves budgeting, forecasting, reporting, and analyzing project financials to ensure alignment with organizational goals and compliance with financial regulations.
This position offers the flexibility to work a remote schedule, preferably based in Woburn, MA.
Key Responsibilities:
- Financial Planning and Analysis
- Collaborate with Program Managers to develop and maintain program budgets and forecasts.
- Analyze program financial performance against budget and forecast, identifying variances and trends.
- Provide financial insights and recommendations to program managers and stakeholders.
- Cost Control and Management
- Monitor, track, analyze, and report on program financials on various programs varying in size and complexity with attention to 75% spent metrics and backlog reporting
- Monitor program expenditures and ensure they align with forecast.
- Work with contracts and procurement and teams to proactively manage subcontractor and consultant hours/costs, address funding needs, and monitor invoicing
- Reporting and Compliance
- Complete accurate submission of customer financial deliverables (i.e., Funds and Man-Hours Expenditure Report, Contract Funds Status Report, Financial Status Report, etc.)
- Ensure compliance with company policies, as well as government and industry regulations related to program finance.
- Support internal and external audits as required.
- Risk Management
- Identify financial risks associated with programs and alert management to potential at risk situations.
- Collaboration and Support
- Work closely with program managers, contracts, procurement, and other finance team members to ensure financial alignment and support program objectives.
- Provide training and guidance to program teams on financial processes and tools.
- Process Improvement
- Contribute to the development and implementation of financial processes and systems to improve efficiency and accuracy.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in finance or accounting, preferably in a program finance or project control role.
- Strong understanding of financial principles, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.
- Proficiency with financial software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
- Experience with government contracting and knowledge of Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) is a plus.
- Ability to obtain security clearance for which U.S. citizenship is required by the U.S. Government (or U.S. Office of Personnel Management)
- Provide advanced analytical skills that require critical thinking and a strong attention to detail
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to present financial information to non-financial audiences.
- Make decisions with sound judgement while complying with policies and procedures
- Develop and maintain professional and effective relationships with internal and external customers
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment to meet deadlines
- Demonstrated ability to establish processes to drive efficiencies
Salary range for this role: 90-100k
