Senior Product Quality Engineer

BBPOS is looking for a passionate, self motivated and hard working Quality engineer to be part of a diverse, dynamic and high energy team. The work is in a highly collaborative and multi- functional environment, handling several projects at a time. The successful candidate will be an experienced Quality engineer who ideally has Mechanical, Electrical and Hardware Quality Assurance expertise and will be experienced in Quality management systems, Data analysis techniques and quality assurance methodologies. 

What you will do

This position is based in Shenzhen, requiring frequent business travel to our manufacturing partners in Vietnam and other Contract Manufacturers (CMs) across China. You will be responsible for OEM product quality from new product introduction through sustaining. Being comfortable in a rapidly evolving and dynamic environment coupled with excellent communication skills are essential to the role. You will foster and build an excellent communication and working relationship with our global Stripe partners.

• Define and implement BBPOS quality management in OEM factories.
• Establish a system of quality metrics to continually drive and supervise measurable quality at OEM.
• Manage IQC, IPQC and OQC for product quality control.
• Define and implement Quality assurance processes for our in house developed Hardware solutions (both for our Shop floor system Hardware and for BBPOS Product Test & Diagnostic bundles).
• Conduct quality system audit and quality process audit for CM maturity improvement.
• Understand product and process CTQ and implement control plans to monitor these CTQ’s and prevent quality excursions or quality incidents.
• Lead quality readiness review and monitor quality result during new product introduction builds.
• Conduct failure analysis and implement corrective actions for quality issues resolution.
• Drive the use of statistical analysis for key Quality data across the team.
• Collaborate with multi-functional peers on key business initiatives. Actively participate in these discussions in a transparent manner and bring data and value to these initiatives based on data and knowledge from your team.

Minimum requirements: 

• Education background from BE, BS or MS in Engineering 
• At least 8 years of experience in implementing hardware Quality assurance methodologies to prevent quality issues from sneaking out of the factory.
• Knowledge of FATP (Final Assembly, Testing, Packing) for a POS reader or similar products such as phone or tablet electronic products.
• Basic Lean principle and methodologies such as CTQ, PDCA, 8D Problem Solving, Kaizen, Mistake proofing, DMAIC, FMEA, etc…
• Root cause analysis skills and with robust corrective action understanding for problem solving.
• Familiar with critical to quality control, and implement statistical quality process control and risk mitigation plan to ensure quality.
• Able to develop and implement OEM quality process audit checklist for continuous quality improvement.
• Proven track record to understand all aspects of Quality and to be able to lead and influence Operations and Suppliers.
• Familiarity with Hardware failure analysis techniques.
• Fluent in Chinese and English
• Comfortable with frequent business travel

Preferred qualifications: 

• Basic SMT (Surface Mount Technology), PCBA(Print Circuit Board Assembly) background
• Quality qualification would be an advantage
