The Senior Product Owner will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of our client’s digital products. A successful Senior Product Owner at Black Airplane drives success for our clients by being proactive, assertive, and incredibly detail-oriented. This unique role blends the traditional Product Owner and Product Manager responsibilities into a hybrid contributor and leader.

This is a full-time, remote position (US only).

Responsibilities

• Product Management: Manage and maintain the product backlog and lead sprint meetings for a variety of client projects, ensuring alignment with project scopes, business goals, client needs, and team capabilities.
• User-Centric Vision: Translate the product vision and roadmap into clear, comprehensive, and actionable user stories and feature definitions that guide the design and development process and team.
• Comprehensive Product Documentation: Create and manage comprehensive product documentation, including product wikis or similar resources, to ensure that all project details, requirements, and decisions are well-documented and easily accessible to team members and stakeholders.
• Cross-functional Collaboration: Act as a liaison between design, development, and other teams, fostering strong collaboration and effective communication.
• Stakeholder Engagement: Work closely with clients, designers, developers, project managers, and account executives to deliver products that exceed expectations.
• Data-Driven Approach: Utilize stakeholder feedback, metrics, and market trends to guide product decisions and keep client products competitive.
• Vision and Strategy: Define and articulate the product vision and strategy, translating it into actionable plans, features/epics, user stories, etc.
• Technical Leadership: Leverage your technical background to support the development team and streamline processes.

About You

• Experience: 3-5 years as a Senior Product Owner, with a preference for experience in a digital product agency.
• Education: Bachelor's degree in Product Management, Business Administration, Communications, or equivalent industry experience.
• Detail-Oriented: You capture, organize, and distill everything, ensuring stakeholders are always aware of a product status and project teams know what to build.
• Agile Expertise: Possess a profound understanding of Agile and Scrum methodologies.
• Communication: Exceptional communication skills with the ability to influence stakeholders and articulate complex ideas.
• Analytical Mindset: Strong analytical skills with experience in data-driven decision-making.
• Problem-Solving: Ability to navigate a fast-paced environment and solve complex problems.
• UX/UI and Software Development: Experience in UX/UI design, software development, and project management.
• Remote: Self-motivated and able to work effectively in a remote setting.
