The Role
The Senior Product Manager leads product delivery and documentation, manages product strategy, prioritizes backlogs, analyzes QA results, and supports team collaboration, emphasizing AI tools and effective communication.
Summary Generated by Built In

The Senior Manager of Product (Technical Delivery) is a strong individual contributor who owns delivery tasks and documentation with growing scope and independence. This person contributes across all five pillars of strategic product management — from surfacing requirements in discovery through managing execution, tracking quality, and supporting iteration — and is building the skills to navigate trade-off conversations and client communication on their own. They lead end-to-end product strategy and execution by leveraging deep knowledge of the product development lifecycle to deliver customer-focused solutions. They use AI tools daily and with confidence — in documentation, backlog management, prototyping, and requirements analysis — and are developing a clear point of view on where automation genuinely improves delivery quality and where precision demands direct human judgment.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

  • Discovery: Contribute to requirements discovery — synthesizing stakeholder input, reviewing technical documentation, and surfacing the functional and non-functional needs that must be captured in product specs
  • Strategy & Vision: Maintain accurate, up-to-date product documentation that reflects current priorities and roadmap direction; flag when specs or stories drift from the agreed strategic intent
  • Prioritization: Own backlog grooming for defined product areas — writing and refining tickets, flagging inconsistencies, gaps, or scope risks, and supporting sprint planning with well-prepared materials
  • Analysis: Track QA outcomes, acceptance criteria results, and sprint velocity; use that data to surface delivery patterns and recommend process or specification improvements
  • Execution: Support sprint ceremonies with preparation and follow-through; collaborate with engineering to clarify requirements, review test cases, and ensure work is delivered to spec
  • Use AI tools confidently as a core part of daily documentation and delivery workflow — developing a point of view on where automation improves throughput and accuracy, and where careful human review is non-negotiable
  • Support Associate Directors and Directors with scoping and delivery planning; provide constructive guidance to Managers and Associates

WHAT YOU'LL NEED

  • 4+ years of experience in technical product management, business analysis, or delivery-focused roles, with a demonstrated ability to own defined delivery workstreams
  • Strong working knowledge of agile delivery — comfortable writing user stories, grooming a backlog, running sprint ceremonies, and tracking QA outcomes with limited oversight
  • Growing fluency in platform and technical documentation sufficient to collaborate effectively with engineering and flag risks before they become problems
  • Developing client communication skills: able to update stakeholders on delivery status, flag scope issues proactively, and begin navigating trade-off conversations
  • Confident, daily use of AI tools in prototyping, documentation and delivery workflow — with a developing point of view on where automation genuinely improves quality and where human review remains essential
  • Reliable delivery of complex tasks with limited supervision; strong attention to detail and a systems-oriented approach to product documentation
  • Early experience providing guidance to junior practitioners; a growth mindset and genuine investment in developing delivery craft

What We Do

Code and Theory is a strategically driven, digital-first creative agency that lives at the intersection of creativity and technology. We solve consumer and business problems across the entire customer journey that flex to meet the ever-changing needs of consumer expectations. We put the user, their behaviors and needs, at the center of everything we do — from our proprietary research methodologies, to product development processes, to how we create brand, channel and messaging strategies. Our goal is simple: to solve our clients business problems. We bring big ideas to life by looking holistically at brand ecosystems where digital plays a prominent role in driving the consumer from first-touch through to conversion to relationship deepening over time. We identify gaps in the consumer journey and opportunities in culture that require products, services or communications to fill. We work across categories, ranging as far and wide as health care (Pfizer, Sanofi, Reach MD, Bioreference Laboratories) to financial services (JP Morgan Chase, Prudential, Morgan Stanley, First Data) to cpg (Mars, Unilever, Johnson & Johnson) to technology companies (Facebook, Xerox, Samsung, Comcast) to culture brands (adidas, H&M). And because our DNA is in publishing — we’ve embedded in over 135 newsrooms in the past decade — we bring unique expertise in understanding how content is created, distributed and optimized, including our work with CNN, NBC News, NBC Sports, and Bustle Digital Group. At Code and Theory, we strive to only be limited by our own ambition and creativity. We believe in pushing our creativity beyond the easy and obvious answers in order to deliver the solutions that are right for our clients, their businesses, and their consumers.
