Who We’re Looking For
We’re seeking a seasoned product expert who’s led development of products and customer-focused programs that deliver innovative consumer experience at scale, ideally with experience in B2B2C, IoT consumer electronics, and/or security. This role requires a passion for consumer experience, and the leadership presence to drive effectively with executives and high-level customer representatives.
Responsibilities:
- Develop ideas for products and features that will delight Afero’s customers.
- Work with Customers, Sales, and Business Development to understand market needs.
- Define roadmaps and user stories for products that are being built to run on the Afero platform.
- Craft customer-facing product messaging aligned with key value proposition.
- Own customer success for critical accounts.
- Perform day-to-day inbound Product Management in a scrum-based environment, working directly with Hardware, Firmware, and Cloud engineering teams, Program Management, and QA.
- Manage and prioritize backlogs.
- Prioritize and provide product management support for 3rd-party certifications as they apply to your areas of responsibility.
- Contribute to the overall Afero Platform vision and roadmap.
- Perform competitive analysis for your products and features.
- Define and measure KPIs for your products and features.
- Support Sales and Business Development by providing materials and presenting to customers and partners as needed.
- Remote work is available, but the role is local to the SF Bay area. Periodic and regular travel to the company headquarters in Los Altos, CA is expected.
Requirements:
- 8+ years of of Product Management experience on scaled products in Smart Home or other consumer-related platforms.
- Demonstrable understanding of consumer devices in the IoT industry, standards, and direction.
- Experienced with product marketing in a partnership framework.
- Excellent presentation and negotiation skills for internal and external audiences.
- Understanding of security concepts as they apply to IOT and related technologies.
- Experience with B2B2C at scale.
- Passion for enabling customer success through innovating and launching useful, smart products.
