Abtrace is solving one of the most complex and impactful problems in healthcare: helping primary care deliver proactive, preventative care at scale.

The NHS is under immense pressure. Primary care teams are asked to deliver more care for a larger, longer-living population with limited time and workforce capacity. Healthcare provision must become more proactive, preventative, and operationally efficient. We must automate where possible and thoughtfully digitise the rest.

Abtrace supports over 500 primary care practices across the UK, serving 6 million people. We automate the delivery of measurements, vaccinations, blood tests, reviews, and other routine care. We improve healthcare outcomes, reduce operational burden, and create better experiences for staff and patients.

The Role

Abtrace combines strong product, engineering, design, and clinical expertise. Our team includes experienced NHS clinicians alongside product managers, engineers, designers, data scientists, and customer-facing teams. We work in cross-functional squads, each with a clear product area and a Product Manager accountable for outcomes.

You will be the Product Manager for a user-focused squad, working alongside an Engineering Lead, designer, and clinicians. It is a strategically important area where we help the people planning and delivering care understand what is actually happening across a population, decide what to do about it, action this and re-assess.

In practice, you will:

  • Own the roadmap and delivery outcomes for the squad.
  • Partner with data engineering to shape and sequence our data foundations.
  • Build a genuine understanding of how decisions get made at population level, what those users are accountable for, and where they are underserved today.
  • Turn complex, data-heavy problems into clear, usable products alongside design and engineering.
  • Use data and direct customer contact to learn from every release, and change direction on the evidence.
  • Contribute to the wider product function: our standards, rituals, and how we make decisions as we scale.

Who you are

You are a product manager who is energised by ambiguity and motivated by real-world impact.

You are likely to be a good fit if you:

  • Are comfortable doing discovery with a user group you do not yet understand, and turning what you learn into clear product decisions.
  • Can operate credibly with senior, institutional stakeholders, and enjoy that kind of conversation.
  • Think commercially: you can reason about who pays, why, and what makes a proposition viable rather than merely interesting.
  • Are a pragmatic decision maker with a sense of urgency, who also knows when to slow down and gather more information.
  • Debate strongly but without ego, commit once a decision is made, and take responsibility for the outcome.
  • Communicate clearly to technical, clinical, and commercial audiences alike.
  • Are open about difficulties and trade-offs, even when uncomfortable.
  • Bring positive energy and help build a healthy, high-performing team.

Experience with analytics or reporting products is useful, as is health tech, regulated environments, or the public sector. None of it is required. Time in an early-stage startup is a bonus. You do not need to be strong on every dimension; get in touch if you are strong in several and want to grow into the rest.
