Reports to: SVP of Global Business

Position Location: Company HQ in Suburban Philadelphia, PA

The Senior Product Manager - Proteomics is responsible for ensuring MOBILion’s products are optimized for proteomics workflows and successful across their lifecycle. This role balances customer needs, business priorities, and technical feasibility by collaborating with internal stakeholders and leveraging subject matter expertise from Technical Market Managers or consultants. The Senior Product Manager will own the proteomics product roadmap, requirements definition, and health monitoring of released products, while enabling market success through strategy execution, scientific translation, and commercial alignment. Success in this position requires deep familiarity with proteomics applications, workflows, and customer pain points, coupled with the ability to translate technical advances into marketable product features and strategies that drive adoption.

Responsibilities:

(1) Market Strategy, Competitive Analysis, & Product Management (50%)

• Define and manage the proteomics product portfolio and roadmap

• Analyze market trends, competitive landscape, and emerging proteomics workflows to guide strategic direction.

• Identify unmet proteomics needs and application opportunities.

• Prioritize features, manage backlogs, and drive end-to-end product lifecycle decisions.

• Partner with cross-functional teams (R&D, manufacturing, marketing, finance, and executive leadership) to ensure successful product performance, customer satisfaction, and feedback, and manufacturing yield.

• Develop and execute go-to-market strategies specific to proteomics.

• Support pricing alignment with business leaders, manufacturing, and finance.

• Track competitor activities, emerging proteomics workflows, and scientific advances.

• Leverage insights to refine positioning and justify new features or product directions,

• Collaborate with R&D and PD to define proteomics-focused user requirements with measurable performance goals.

• Contribute to design, testing, and validation of proteomics products.

(2) Scientific & Application Translation (25%)

• Map proteomics workflows and benchmark performance with subject matter experts.

• Translate advances in mass spectrometry and proteomics into product features, validation plans, and training materials.

• Benchmark against industry standards and ensure products address proteomics challenges such as depth of coverage, throughput, post-translational modification analysis, and reproducibility.

• Provide proteomics expertise to sales and marketing, ensuring accurate communication of technical advantages and results.

• Support customer inquiries, product feedback collection, and problem resolution.

• Ensure accurate and effective communication of proteomics product value.

(3) Commercial Enablement & Market Execution (25%)

• Develop proteomics sales tools, training, and collateral in partnership with commercial teams.

• Support advertising, PR, and launch communications targeted to proteomics audiences.

• Ensure commercial viability and profitability of proteomics offerings.


Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in chemistry, biochemistry, physics, or engineering.

• 5+ years’ experience in proteomics product management, product launch, or product development in analytical instrumentation (mass spectrometry or separations).

• Deep working knowledge of proteomics applications and workflows (sample preparation, LC-MS/MS, post-translational modifications, software workflows and data interpretation).

• Proven track record in proteomics market analysis, positioning, and competitive benchmarking.

• Demonstrated ability to develop customer-facing proteomics training and collateral.

• Strong communication skills: ability to translate complex proteomics concepts into customer and business value.

• Excellent project management and organizational skills.

• Ability to work independently and cross-functionally with sales, marketing, product development, and manufacturing.

• Willingness to travel up to 30%.

• Authorized to work within in the United States.


Preferred Skills & Qualifications:

• Advanced degree in chemistry, biochemistry, physics, or engineering.

• Experience in Salesforce or other CRM systems for customer trend analysis.

• Familiarity with ion mobility and HRMS technologies.
