WHO WE ARE:

ActBlue is a nonprofit that builds tech and infrastructure for Democratic campaigns, progressive-aligned causes, and people trying to make an impact in order to fuel long-term, people-powered change. If you’ve ever given online to a Democrat or progressive organization, chances are you’ve used our powerful online fundraising platform.

We put power in the hands of small-dollar donors and help thousands of groups — from presidential candidates to environmental organizations — build grassroots movements. We envision a democracy where everyone looking to make progressive people-powered change can easily and effectively deploy their resources, energy, and creativity to shape our country and futures. Each and every one of us, from the political activists to the tech innovators to the customer service pros, is fully committed to our mission.

THE OPPORTUNITY:

As a Senior Product Manager, you will play a critical role in shaping and executing the product strategy for an ActBlue product line. In this role, you will drive the strategy, development, and execution of product initiatives that enhance our platform and deliver exceptional value to the campaigns and organizations that use it. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to create innovative solutions that meet market needs and align with our business objectives. This role requires a results-oriented mindset with a demonstrated history of executing projects that deliver meaningful value, including successfully shipping software that achieves measurable outcomes and meets user needs.

WHAT YOU WILL DO:

  • Work in close collaboration with our data and machine learning functions to build data-driven products and manage the development lifecycle from ideation to launch to production and beyond.
  • Gain a deep understanding of the behaviors, needs, and motivations of donors and partner entities, and use these insights to create data-driven products and features that support our overall product strategy and advance our mission.
  • Craft clear and concise product requirements that outline user needs, context, constraints, opportunities, and goals, and communicate these effectively to senior leaders, designers, data scientists, and developers effectively.
  • Proactively identify and address roadblocks and technical dependencies within your roadmap, collaborating with cross-functional teams to navigate trade-offs, balance organizational and customer needs with technical and resource limitations, and ensure timely delivery of the right product.
  • Build and foster a strong product culture around testing and learning in order to iterate quickly, mitigate risk, and get to the right product.
  • Establish key product KPIs and assess the impact of your initiatives through data analysis and user research. Guide strategic roadmap investments to enhance these KPIs over time.

WHAT YOU'LL BRING:

  • At least 5 years of hands-on experience in any of the following industries: management consulting, payments processing, financial services/banking, accounting, or large-scale e-commerce marketplaces where you established a proven track record of repeatedly translating complex client needs into shipping high-value software solutions at scale.
  • Proven track record of proactive problem solving and effectively navigating ambiguity, with a proven ability to drive results and deliver high-quality products on time.
  • You are outcome-oriented, consistently focusing on delivering measurable results and aligning product initiatives with key business objectives to drive success.
  • Experience collaborating with remote cross-functional product teams to develop and launch complex products, and eager to tackle intricate product challenges on a larger scale.
  • You have a deep understanding of user behavior and motivations, informed by both qualitative and quantitative insights.
  • You are a strong presenter with excellent facilitation skills, capable of engaging stakeholders and guiding discussions to drive alignment and clarity.
  • You are not intimidated by gaps in your knowledge; instead, you are eager to learn and expand your expertise, embracing new challenges as opportunities for growth.
  • You care about progressive causes and politics and want to spend your time making a meaningful impact by doing what you do best.

BONUS IF YOU HAVE :

  • Proven experience in developing business cases and conducting financial modeling and budgeting to support product strategy and decision making.
  • Hands-on experience with Amazon SageMaker or similar machine learning notebooks.
