Join Moog's Product Development team and help design, develop and qualify the next generation of flight-critical aerospace systems. Working on military and commercial aircraft programmes, you'll take ownership of complex engineering challenges from concept through to qualified hardware that flies worldwide.

Moog Aircraft Group Tewkesbury is seeking a Senior Product Development Engineer.

Working within a multidisciplinary engineering team, you'll lead the development of innovative aerospace products throughout the product lifecycle.

At Moog Tewkesbury, products progress from raw billet through manufacturing, assembly and testing to flight-ready hardware. Engineers work closely with manufacturing and test teams onsite, giving direct involvement across the full product lifecycle and the opportunity to see ideas become reality.

Due to the hands-on nature of development testing and prototype activity, engineers spend the majority of their time onsite, working directly with our laboratories, manufacturing teams and test facilities.

What You'll Be Doing

As a Senior Product Development Engineer, you will act as a technical focal point across product development programmes, providing engineering leadership throughout the development lifecycle.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Owning the technical development of aerospace products from early concept through to flight qualification,
  • Translating customer requirements into robust engineering solutions, along with customer facing activities
  • Supporting the design and development of high-performance electrohydraulic aerospace components.
  • Coordinating technical activities and engineering deliverables to support successful product development.
  • Leading technical investigations and problem-solving activities to resolve complex engineering challenges.
  • Coordinating development and qualification testing.
  • Working closely with manufacturing, quality, test, programme management and supply chain teams to ensure successful product delivery.
  • Providing technical guidance and mentorship to developing engineers.

What We're Looking For

Essential

  • Degree qualified in Mechanical, Aerospace, Systems or a related Engineering discipline.
  • Significant experience (typically 8+ years) developing complex engineered products within aerospace or other highly regulated industries.
  • Experience leading technical activities throughout a structured product development lifecycle.
  • Strong understanding of verification, validation and qualification testing.
  • Ability to translate customer requirements into practical engineering solutions.
  • Excellent technical communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Proven problem-solving and investigation skills.

Desirable

  • Knowledge of EASA Part 21 and airworthiness requirements.
  • Experience with hydraulic or electrohydraulic systems.
  • Familiarity with APQP or equivalent product development methodologies.
  • Experience using Siemens NX or similar CAD software.
  • Understanding of GD&T principles.
  • Experience with Mathcad, CFD, FEA or other engineering analysis tools.
  • Understanding of aerospace materials and manufacturing processes.
  • Project planning experience, including MS Project.
  • Previous technical leadership or mentoring experience.

Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS) clearance is required and must be maintained for this role.
