We’re looking for a Senior Product Designer to join Radical as our first dedicated designer—partnering directly with our Director of Digital Experience to shape experiences across our lab informatics platform, Sentinel, and hardware-facing lab display interfaces. This is a high-impact, execution-focused role for someone who thrives on shipping fast, working close to complex technical domains, and making data-rich software feel intuitive.
Design and engineering are tightly coupled at Radical. Expect to sit in on engineering reviews, iterate quickly based on direct feedback from scientists, roboticists, and mechanical engineers, and have real ownership over product quality. We move fast and value taste, pragmatism, and clear thinking over process overhead.
What You'll Work On
- Sentinel (core lab informatics platform)—multi-step experiment workflows, composition analysis views, and interactive dashboards for scientists and lab operators
- Lab display interfaces—touch and tablet UIs that surface real-time data at the bench, designed for usability in a physical lab environment
- Design systems—establishing and maintaining component patterns, tokens, and documentation as we scale
- Research & iteration—collaborating directly with scientists, roboticists, and mechanical engineers to understand workflows, validate concepts, and ship improvements quickly
What We're Looking For
- 4+ years of product design experience across UX and UI
- Portfolio demonstrating strong information architecture and data visualization—making complex data clear and meaningful
- Expert-level Figma skills including prototyping and component libraries
- Ability to work cross-functionally with software engineers, scientists, roboticists, and mechanical engineers
- Comfortable with ambiguity—able to propose informed design directions and iterate quickly based on user feedback
- Openness to learning frontend concepts and tooling
Nice to Have
- Familiarity with HTML/CSS/JS and/or a frontend framework (Svelte, React, or similar)—enough to prototype in-browser or collaborate closely with eng
- Experience designing touch/tablet interfaces
- Background in scientific, laboratory, or industrial software—or genuine interest in materials science or chemistry
- Experience with hardware + software products
- Interest or experience designing agentic interfaces
- Eye for cutting-edge, futuristic UI
- Experience with 3D modeling, texturing, lighting, or real-time rendering
- Passion for or experience with motion design and interactivity
Work Arrangement
- Medical, dental, and vision insurance for you and your family, covered at 100%
- Mental health and wellness support
- Unlimited PTO and 14+ company holidays per year
- Company-wide end-of-year shutdown, including two weeks of paid time off
- 401K

- Portfolio demonstrating strong information architecture and data visualization
- Expert-level Figma skills including prototyping and component libraries
- Ability to work cross-functionally with software engineers, scientists, roboticists, and mechanical engineers
- Comfortable with ambiguity and able to iterate quickly based on user feedback
What We Do
Through the integration of artificial intelligence, engineering, materials science, and applied research, we are changing the way materials are designed, developed, and discovered. In doing so we are tackling the world's most pressing problems.
Why Work With Us
We know what we are doing is hard. Really hard. We like that. As a team of deep domain experts, we trust each other and all move with autonomy. It won’t always look perfect —that’s the price of moving fast. But we prize execution above all else.
