Truefit partners with visionary business leaders to design and build next-generation software products that unlock new markets, solve meaningful problems, and drive growth.

Our cross-functional teams — blending product strategy, design, and engineering — deliver human-centered, technically sound solutions that succeed in the market.

We’re headquartered in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, but proudly operate as a fully remote company. We welcome applicants across the U.S. who can collaborate during East Coast business hours. Only individuals legally authorized to work in the U.S. should apply.

About The Role

As a Senior Product Designer at Truefit, you’ll help shape the products that move businesses forward. You’ll collaborate closely with product owners, architects, engineers, and QA analysts to bring ideas to life — from early research to refined, scalable interfaces.

Reporting to the Director of Product Design, you’ll lead design initiatives that balance human needs, business goals, and technical feasibility. You’ll play a key role in shaping product strategy, defining research plans, and designing intuitive, delightful experiences that have real impact.

This role is ideal for someone with an AI-first mindset — someone who sees artificial intelligence as an extension of creativity and problem-solving. You’ll not only design AI-powered experiences but also use AI daily to accelerate discovery, design, research, and communication, making your workflow smarter, faster, and more insightful.

What You’ll Do

Product Strategy

  • Partner with product and engineering to align design outcomes with business goals and technical opportunities — including AI-driven features and automation.
  • Translate research insights into actionable strategies and help define product roadmaps, prioritizing opportunities where AI can add measurable value.
  • Surface new possibilities for innovation through user insights and emerging AI capabilities.

User Experience

  • Lead design initiatives that align user goals and context, usability, and accessibility with business goals — incorporating AI when it enhances the user journey.
  • Balance human needs with machine intelligence, ensuring products feel empowering, ethical, and intuitive.
  • Champion research and experimentation that helps identify where AI can improve user workflows or reduce friction.

User Interface Design

  • Create and maintain scalable, elegant design systems and visual systems that accommodate AI-driven personalization and adaptability.
  • Design interfaces that clearly communicate AI behavior, confidence, and user control.
  • Mentor designers in applying AI-assisted design methods, tools, and automation to streamline execution.

UX Research

  • Use AI-assisted tools to accelerate research planning, analysis, and insight definition to develop personas and materials that guide human-centered development.
  • Conduct and analyze user research to identify opportunities for AI augmentation within products and to enhance satisfaction/trust with AI-enabled products.
  • Integrate findings into product strategy and experience design, informing design principles and patterns.

AI-Experience Design

  • Design intuitive, transparent, and ethical AI experiences that empower users, build trust and support collaboration and governance.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to refine how AI enhances human workflows, decision-making.
  • Continuously experiment with AI tools to boost creativity, speed up iteration, and improve communication of design concepts.
  • Bring an AI-first perspective to how products are imagined, tested, and built — helping clients and teams think beyond what’s possible today.

Design Process & Collaboration

  • Continuously improve team processes using AI to streamline research, documentation, and design-to-dev handoffs.
  • Facilitate collaboration across product, design, and engineering disciplines, fostering shared learning in AI adoption.
  • Model a proactive, growth-oriented approach to design excellence in the era of AI.

Skills & Attributes

  • Design Mastery: Expertise across the full product design lifecycle — from discovery and IA to prototyping, visual design, and delivery. Adept at balancing user needs, business goals, and technical feasibility.
  • AI Fluency:Hands-on experience using AI tools to accelerate design, research, and communication workflows. Understands how to design for and with AI — creating experiences that are intelligent, transparent, and trustworthy.
  • Collaboration & Communication: Bridges design, product, and engineering through clear, empathetic communication. Skilled at facilitating discussions, aligning stakeholders, and telling compelling stories about design rationale and user value and product vision.
  • Problem-Solving & Ownership: Thrives in ambiguity, reframing complex challenges into clear opportunities. Takes accountability for design quality, usability, and outcomes, ensuring the design intent carries through to implementation.
  • Mentorship & Leadership: Supports the growth of other designers and cross-functional peers through coaching, feedback, and knowledge-sharing. Models curiosity, humility, and craft excellence.
  • Resilience & Adaptability: Maintains a positive, pragmatic mindset under pressure. Welcomes feedback, embraces change, and turns challenges into learning opportunities.
  • Technical & Process Proficiency: Proficient in Figma, Miro, and modern collaboration tools. Experienced in Agile environments and comfortable contributing to lean, iterative development cycles.
  • Bonus: Experience designing for emerging technologies such as AI/ML, robotics, or voice interfaces.

Qualifications

  • 3–5 years of product design experience
  • Proven track record of design solutions with measurable business impact
  • Strong portfolio demonstrating end-to-end design process from research to implementation
  • Advanced understanding of design methods including problem-framing, information architecture, workflow, UI style and theming, prototyping, and design system documentation
  • Experience leading qualitative user research and translating insights into actionable recommendations
  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies and cross-functional team environment.

You’ll Thrive Here If You…

  • Are passionate about creating software that helps people and businesses thrive
  • Have a natural curiosity about how AI can amplify design thinking and creativity
  • Love collaborating with smart, motivated teammates across disciplines
  • Balance big-picture strategy with detail-oriented execution
  • Embrace new tools and technologies that make your design work more efficient and insightful
  • Seek continuous learning and personal growth — welcoming constructive feedback
  • Enjoy the fast-paced, consultative nature of agency-style work

Even if you don’t meet every qualification, we encourage you to apply — we value potential, curiosity, and drive as much as experience.
