About Payrails

Payrails is a global payment software company helping leading enterprises to take control of their payment operations and maximize performance. With deep experience in the payments space and firsthand knowledge of merchants' challenges, we’ve seen how fragmented, complex, and inefficient these systems can become. Now, we are setting a new industry standard for how enterprises around the world manage and optimize payments, with more control, visibility and flexibility than ever before.

Our vision is to reimagine payments from the ground up. We are building a deeply integrated meta layer that spans the entire payment lifecycle with a modular architecture. This helps us give leading brands building blocks to craft solutions to most complex operational challenges, tailor seamless customer experiences and grow their business.

We are backed by some of the world’s top investors including Andreessen Horowitz, HV Capital, EQT Ventures and General Catalyst, who share our mission to simplify payment complexity globally.

At Payrails, we’re committed to building a team of exceptional people - not just talented, but driven to build, solve, and deliver at the highest level. Excellence isn’t just a value here; it’s a way of working. We believe that great people thrive in environments where there’s trust, clarity, and shared purpose. We work openly and collaboratively, with deep respect for each other’s craft. Everyone is encouraged to understand the bigger picture - what we’re building, why it matters, and what stands in the way. When people have that context, they move faster, take ownership, and make better decisions. We care about creating a culture where people feel inspired to do their best work and a deep sense of responsibility to help us bring our vision to life. Success at Payrails means staying focused on the problems that matter most, and executing with purpose.

Your team

At Payrails, Product Design is at the heart of how our users experience the complexity of payments and how we turn that complexity into clarity. Sitting at the intersection of product, engineering, and customer insight, our mission is to craft experiences that are intuitive, precise, and built to scale with enterprise needs.

We focus on three core pillars:

  • Understanding real user workflows and mental models - through deep customer research, thoughtful questioning, and a strong partnership with Product and GTM teams

  • Designing for clarity and control - simplifying complex processes into experiences that are easy to navigate, flexible to configure, and satisfying to use

  • Building scalable systems with a high bar for craft - creating design patterns and interfaces that are consistent, elegant, and built to last

Design at Payrails operates with speed, autonomy, and a strong sense of ownership. We don’t just make things look good - we solve real problems that move the product and business forward. We value clarity over decoration, systems over one-offs, and progress over perfection.

You’ll be joining a team that cares deeply about the details, collaborates closely with engineers and PMs, and believes great design starts with asking the right questions. If you're excited to shape the design language of a category-defining product and thrive in an environment where speed and craft go hand in hand, you'll do your best work here.

How you will make an impact

  • Own end-to-end design for core parts of the Payrails platform from early research and ideation to final interaction and visual design.

  • Simplify complexity by turning technical and operational workflows into intuitive, elegant experiences for all teams interacting with payments and financial operations.

  • Partner closely with Product Managers, Engineers, GTM and other Designers to explore solutions, prototype ideas, and ship high-quality features fast.

  • Bring a systems-thinking mindset by contributing to and evolving a scalable design system that ensures consistency without compromising flexibility.

  • Push the quality of design at Payrails by raising the bar for craft, usability, and user impact across the product.

  • Help shape the culture of design - sharing knowledge, giving feedback, and helping us grow as a creative and collaborative team.

What we are looking for

  • You bring 6+ years of experience designing digital products, ideally in complex B2B, SaaS, or infrastructure environments.

  • You think in systems, flows, and edge cases but also care deeply about interaction details and visual polish.

  • You’re a strong communicator who is able to clearly articulate design decisions and collaborate cross-functionally with engineers, PMs, and stakeholders.

  • You’re not just a designer - you’re a problem solver who uses design as a tool to create clarity, impact, and better decisions.

  • You’re a builder at heart energized by the opportunity to define a brand from early stages and evolve it as the company grows

  • You’re comfortable with ambiguity and fast iteration and you know how to balance quality with velocity.

  • You take ownership of your work, hold a high standard for execution, and care deeply about the end-to-end user experience.

  • You understand that great design serves a purpose and you care as much about achieving business goals as you do about visual polish.

Please submit an up-to-date portfolio in English as part of your application.
