You’re a Senior Product Designer who leads with curiosity, puts users first, and brings bold ideas to life, fast.

Do work that matters
At CommBank, we’re transforming banking to enhance the financial health of our customers and communities. In the role of Senior Product Designer with the Home Buying Apply With Ease Crew you’ll be instrumental in crafting seamless, accessible, and effective digital experiences for staff to empower more Australians to achieve home ownership and ensure a sustainable and resilient future.

See yourself in our team
We’re looking for a Senior Product Designer who’s excited by simplifying complexity and driven to help make exceptional multi-channel customer experiences.

You are someone who thrives working end-to-end — from discovery, research and service design to UX/UI design and delivery — and will join our collaborative, customer-focused product team.  You’ll partner closely with Product Managers, Engineers, and Business SMEs in an agile environment to deeply understand customer needs, translate insights into elegant, scalable solutions, and drive outcomes that deliver real customer and business value. You’ll balance strategic thinking with hands-on design execution, and you’ll be a key voice in shaping the product and staff and customer experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead end-to-end design for a mission-critical initiative.

  • Inform team strategy and roadmap decisions with insight-led thinking.

  • Rapidly uncover problems and iterate toward validated, high-quality solutions.

  • Partner with Product and Engineering to deliver measurable outcomes.

  • Design intuitive, efficient workflows for staff users.

  • Plan and facilitate user research, testing, and insight synthesis.

  • Translate complex business and system requirements into clear experiences.

  • Use and evolve the design system for scalable, accessible delivery.

  • Collaborate with engineers using AI-enabled tooling.

  • Facilitate workshops and alignment sessions to drive clarity and momentum.

What You’ll Bring

  • Extensive experience designing digital/staff products end-to-end in cross-functional product teams.

  • Proven ability to lead discovery and delivery activities with customers, product, and engineering stakeholders.

  • Deep understanding of human-centred design methodologies and how to apply and execute them pragmatically in a fast-paced agile environment.

  • Excellent interaction and UI design skills, with an eye for detail and craft.

  • Experience designing for complex systems, services, or platforms, not just isolated features.

  • Strong understanding of the principles and interaction models required to design responsible, and scalable AI powered experiences

  • Strong collaboration and communication skills — you’re as comfortable sketching ideas on a whiteboard with engineers as you are presenting strategic concepts to executives.

  • Proficiency with modern design tools (e.g., Figma, Adobe Creative Suite) and a basic understanding of front-end technologies (HTML, CSS, components, design tokens).

  • Comfortable navigating ambiguity and complexity, balancing user needs with business goals.

  • Experience with metrics-driven product development (e.g., running experiments, A/B testing, usage funnels data).

  • Passion for mentoring others and uplifting the broader design craft in the organisation.

  • A portfolio that showcases end-to-end product design thinking, craft, and measurable impact.

Why Join Us

  • Lead a transformation with significant organisational impact.

  • Work with modern design systems and AI-enabled engineering practices.

  • Operate with autonomy and ownership in an empowered squad.

  • Help elevate design maturity and cross-functional ways of working.

  • Join a collaborative, customer-first culture focused on outcomes.

  • Shape new ways of designing during a significant platform transformation.

  • Be part of a large & growing product design practice with access to coaching and development opportunities

We invest in your growth and career development through coaching, learning budgets, and design community support.
