How you will make an impact:

The Senior Procurement Strategist/Buyer functions as a key strategic role, responsible for directing complex procurement initiatives encompassing advanced supplier negotiations, multi-faceted contract architecture, and senior-level supplier relationship management. This position requires deep expertise in sourcing raw materials and qualifying global and domestic vendors, ensuring alignment with cost, quality, and delivery targets. Leveraging a solid educational foundation in supply chain, business, or engineering, the strategist leads cross-functional initiatives, drives supplier performance improvements, and mitigates risk through proactive contract and relationship management. Additionally, this role plays a key part in mentoring junior staff and influencing organizational success through tactical procurement execution and long-term sourcing strategies.

  • Negotiate with vendors to achieve the most favorable pricing and terms.
  • Analyze YOY vendor pricing to gain leverage on yearly pricing contracts.
  • Lead the development and execution of procurement strategies for high-value, complex, and critical categories, ensuring alignment with organizational goals, risk mitigation, and total cost optimization.
  • Draft commercial terms, scopes of work, and pricing schedules in supply and service agreements.
  • Perform in-depth market analysis to identify emerging trends, supply chain risks, and sourcing opportunities that drive competitive advantage and inform strategic decision-making.
  • Drive cross-functional initiatives to reduce costs, mitigate supply chain risks, and enhance vendor reliability and performance through strategic sourcing and continuous improvement efforts.
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers, negotiating favorable terms and resolving performance issues.
  • Identify, evaluate, and onboard new suppliers to meet organizational needs.

This is an on-site role based out of our headquarters in Camarillo, CA.

The skills and experience you’ll need:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or related field is required. Master’s degree or professional certifications (e.g., CPSM, CPP, CIPS) is strongly preferred.
  • 7+ years of progressive experience in procurement, supply chain, or a related field.
  • Proven track record of managing complex purchasing activities, contracts, and supplier negotiations.
  • Advanced knowledge of procurement strategies, contract management, and supplier evaluation.
  • Proficiency in procurement and ERP software (e.g., D365, SAP, Oracle) and data analysis tools.
  • Strong negotiation, analytical, and project management skills.
  • Must have strong written and verbal communication skills in the English language, be able to write correspondence and effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and employees of the organization.

US BASE PAY SCALE $114,900 - $151,200

The base pay scale for this role is what Meissner reasonably expects to pay for the position although actual pay may vary from this scale depending on an applicant's experience.
