Position Overview:
The Sr. Procurement Specialist reports to the Sr. Manager, Procurement and is responsible for overseeing the procurement of goods and services, focusing on software, telecommunication tools, and other critical infrastructure required for the efficient delivery of telehealth services. This role requires collaboration with various departments, vendor management, and ensuring compliance with industry regulations. The Senior Procurement Specialist ensures that the company is receiving the best value for its expenditures while supporting organizational objectives.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute procurement strategies, including sourcing, purchasing, and inventory management of pharmaceutical products and supplies.
  • Collaborate with various teams across Marketing, IT and Pharmacy departments to drive the vendor selection process.
  • Monitor supplier performance, inventory level, delivery schedules and address any issues related to cost, quality, or availability.
  • Lead negotiations with suppliers to secure favorable pricing, payment terms, retainer, and service level while ensuring quality and compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Review purchase order and contract details along with Finance and Compliance to ensure the purchase is within budget and risk is minimized.
  • Manage the procurement process to ensure timely execution of purchases and product delivery.
  • Communicate and educate appropriate departments to provide appropriate supporting documentation for purchases.
  • Maintain accurate records of procurement activities, contracts, and supplier documentation in accordance with organizational policies and procedures.

 

You will likely have:

 

  • 5-7 years of proven experience in procurement, supply chain management, or related roles ideally within the healthcare, pharmaceutical, or similar industry.
  • Extensive experience in contract negotiation, with a strong track record of securing favorable terms in complex deals, particularly with Marketing, IT, and Pharmacy vendors. 
  • Strong negotiation skills with the ability to build and maintain relationships with suppliers and stakeholders.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities. 
  • Proficient in procurement software, ERP systems, and Microsoft Office Suite. 
  • Deep understanding of procurement policies, best practices, and regulatory requirements
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment. 

 

You may have:

 

  • Experience with compound drugs procurement and an understanding of their unique regulatory and quality challenges.
  • Advanced degrees or certifications in supply chain management, procurement, or related fields.
  • Experience working in a fast-growing startup environment, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability.
