This role plays a key role in ensuring raw material availability, quality, and compliance in Vietnam by working closely with the Raw Material Sourcing team, suppliers, and cross‑functional partners to support evolving business needs, with future regional responsibilities across our Southeast Asia (SEA) plants. This role will be instrumental in strengthening supplier performance, driving operational efficiency, and supporting long‑term raw material strategies for the region.
Key Responsibilities:
- Align the SEA raw material (RM) sourcing strategy with the RM sourcing team and key stakeholders and lead its effective implementation.
- Evaluate and monitor RM supplier performance to ensure quality, reliability, and competitiveness.
- Manage tail‑spend activities in collaboration with the SEA distributor team and the supply chain team to optimize cost and supply security.
- Work closely with the supply chain team to resolve vendor‑related issues and maintain smooth operational processes.
- Develop innovative sourcing approaches using cost‑value analytics to assess scenarios, benefits, risks, and change‑management impacts.
- Support new product development, localization projects, and new business by providing timely RM sourcing guidance.
- Serve as the procurement ISO country representative and coordinate vendor onsite audits as part of ISO audit requirements.
- Lead discussions with vendors regarding RM claims and ensure timely resolution of disputes.
- Follow up with supply chain and SBUs on the latest RM forecasts to update the sourcing team for volume allocation and price negotiations.
- Manage new RM vendor setup and maintenance, approve RM POs and agreements, support supplier payment and invoice‑matching issues, and perform other tasks assigned by management.
Qualifications:
- A Bachelor’s degree majoring in chemical or related discipline
- Minimum 5 years of experience relevant to purchasing, sourcing, supply chain
- Fluent in both oral and written English and Vietnamese Language.
- Strong interpersonal and influencing skills, able to drive team engagement, negotiate with stakeholders at all levels, and effectively manage expectations and conflicts.
