The Opportunity

We are seeking a Senior Procurement Analyst with strong experience in marketing procurement and digital media contracting to join our team. You will serve as a trusted partner to Marketing, Data Science, and cross-functional stakeholders, ensuring that vendor engagements - particularly those involving data elements, pixels, digital platforms (Martech), and mailers - are executed with precision, compliance, and measurable value.

Salary Range: $76,000 - $95,000 (Bonus & LTI Eligible)

How You Will Make an Impact

Vendor & Contract Management

  • Own the end-to-end vendor and contract lifecycle, leveraging procurement orchestration tools enhanced by AI Agents to streamline and improve the entire process.

  • Negotiate favorable terms with agencies, platforms, and data providers, with a focus on contracts involving data elements, pixels, and performance-based marketing.
    Partner with Marketing, Data Science, Legal, IT, Finance, and InfoSec to ensure agreements support campaign effectiveness, data governance, and regulatory requirements.

  • Drive accountability and measurable ROI through proactive vendor management.

Strategic Procurement & Cost Optimization

  • Execute sourcing strategies across marketing, digital media, and data vendors, leveraging AI insights to deliver cost savings and optimize spend.

  • Provide data-driven recommendations for vendor consolidation, scalable pricing models, and improved media effectiveness.

  • Support Root’s procurement dashboards, ensuring leadership visibility into procurement KPIs (cost savings & avoidance; throughput; cycle time).

Process Optimization & Automation

  • Champion automation in procurement workflows, using orchestration software to eliminate bottlenecks and accelerate decision-making.

  • Standardize vendor onboarding, risk assessments, and contract processes to improve agility for high-velocity marketing and data science team’s initiatives.

  • Partner in the evolution of Root’s AI Agent-enabled procurement framework, ensuring smarter, faster, and more transparent vendor management.

What You Will Need to Succeed

  • 4+ years of procurement experience, with significant expertise in marketing procurement and digital media contracting.

  • Strong knowledge of contracts involving data elements, pixels, and advertising platforms. Experience with printing physical mailers is a plus.

  • Bachelor’s degree with an analytical focus, or relevant certifications in procurement, supply chain, or vendor management.

  • Experience leveraging procurement automation or orchestration software (Zip or similar) is a plus, with a strong interest in AI-enabled tools for vendor and contract management.

  • Proven success negotiating savings, driving vendor performance, and improving procurement processes.

  • Strong collaborator with the ability to partner across Marketing, Data Science, Legal, IT, Finance, and InfoSec.

  • Excellent analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to navigate ambiguity effectively in a fast-paced environment.
