About You
We’re seeking a results-focused, innovative, self-driven, and well-qualified individual to join our talented team as our Sr. Process Engineer. In this role, you will develop and implement manufacturing processes, procedures, and equipment through Scale-up, Root Cause Analysis, Process Flow, SOPs, and Work Instructions, while focusing on cost reductions involving labor, materials, and overhead. Also, by creating new product innovation and prototype design, and developing functional testing protocols under common concepts, practices, and procedures within chemical manufacturing
Key Responsibilities:
- Maximize production efficiencies by assessing product specs, documentation, and quality standards, then improving the quality, stability, and consistency of new and existing processes to manufacture adhesive products
- Efficiently introduce new products and change management for high growth markets by developing new products (NPIs), scaling-up processes for adhesives, and leading the coordination of manufacturing launches with Production, R&D, and Quality groups for new or revised products
- Develop subject matter expertise, and lead the adoption of best practices by enhancing professional acumen through workshops and research, and by implementing liquid and solid mixing and dispersion science, and maximizing product manufacturing viabilities through state-of-the art mixing systems
- Develop manufacturing consistency and quality by training colleagues and operators, and by continuously improving work instructions and SOPs, and implementing Process Change Request processes and documentation, and managing the in-process adjustments to improve first pass yield.
- Execute process validation protocols by optimizing production process parameters and controls
- Drive customer advocacy by resolving customer complaints utilizing effective root cause analysis tools, and by making the necessary associated improvements to processes, documents, and Dymax systems.
- Characterize and manage manufacturing quality risk by conducting Process Validations, conducting Process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (PFMEAs) authoring the associated documentation, implementing process flow and controls plans, and driving continuous improvements in product manufacturing quality
Requirements
You should have:
- 10+ years of experience in chemical manufacturing including new product development
- 10+ years chemical process engineering experience
- A bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering or equivalency is required. A Master's or Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering is preferred.
- Credentials in continuous improvement management a plus
- Proficiency in enterprise software required, JD Edwards E-1 desirable
- Hands-on shop floor as well as computer work in a manufacturing plant environment
- Hazards Limited exposure to hazardous chemicals in a manufacturing environment
- Compliance with ISO policies and adherence to a Quality Management System
- Background in adhesives is highly desired
- Experience and/or training in liquid and solid mixing preferred
- Demonstrated ability to lead projects, mentor team members, and influence cross-functional teams.
- Hands on experience with manufacturing and packaging equipment preferred
- Personal Qualities Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Salary: $107,000-$154,000

The base salary range represents the low and high end of the Dymax salary range for this position. Actual salaries will vary and may be above or below the range.
