MBL Technologies is seeking a Senior Privacy Advisor to join the team in support of our federal client. This is a senior position that manages and advises on Privacy Act, data protection and privacy compliance activities. This role works directly with senior stakeholders to coordinate requirements and operations across Privacy Act reporting, oversight agency coordination, policy, and training. The Senior Privacy Advisor will act as a Privacy Act SME and have substantial experience in Systems of Records Notices (SORN), Computer Matching Agreements (CMA), Privacy Act complaints, access requests, notices, and related compliance activities.

    

The Senior Privacy Advisor will also act as a mentor and educator for the team, client and the workforce on the requirements for Privacy Act data compliance activities. Specifically, the Senior Privacy Advisor’s responsibilities will include:

Key Responsibilities:  

  • Leading the preparation and review of SORN materials including narrative statements, notices for the Federal Register, routine uses, and communications to oversight bodies. 
  • Evaluating uses of personally identifiable information and determining permissible routine uses and disclosures. 
  • Leading the preparation and review of CMA materials including narrative statements, notices for the Federal Register, routine uses, and communications to oversight bodies. 
  • Leading the membership and activities of the Data Integrity Board. Providing guidance to members on proposed matching activities and navigating proposed CMAs to approval. 
  • Advise on information collection, notices of data use, and procedures for processing Privacy Act complaints. 
  • Coordinating across multiple stakeholders to approve and enforce data protection and compliance measures and monitor the success of progress and milestones.
  • Supporting the ongoing coordination of privacy act and data protection activities and development of related procedures. 
  • Provide expertise and recommendations on privacy practices to identify risks, issues, and emerging threats to the privacy protections. 
  • Identify and assess the understanding of the privacy training needs for the workforce and senior stakeholders. 

Required Experience Skills & Qualifications:  

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
  • 11+ years d experience supporting senior stakeholders and Privacy at a federal agency.
  • Experience developing high-profile reporting and communications to oversight agencies.
  • Experience supporting data protection and compliance programs or initiatives.
  • Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP) certification preferred. 
  • Ability to build trusted relationships with federal clients and executive leadership.
  • Self-motivated, adaptable, and collaborative with a "can-do" attitude and willingness to contribute wherever needed.
  • Hybrid. Remote with 1-2 days onsite in Rockville, MD.
