Focus: OpenShift Virtualization Platform Management & VMware Migration
We are seeking highly skilled OpenShift Virtualization experts for a strategic client project to modernize infrastructure by migrating from legacy VMware to a robust Red Hat OpenShift Virtualization platform.
Role Summary:
As a key consultant, you will be responsible for the design, implementation, and management of a large-scale OpenShift environment. A core objective is leading the seamless migration of virtual machines (VMs) from VMware to OpenShift Virtualization.
Key Responsibilities:
- Platform Management: Install, configure, automate, and maintain our production Red Hat OpenShift platform with the OpenShift Virtualization operator.
- VM Migration: Lead the migration of virtual servers from VMware vSphere to OpenShift Virtualization using tools like virt-v2v.
- Performance & Optimization: Monitor platform health, performance, and capacity; perform tuning for virtualized workloads.
- Troubleshooting: Serve as an escalation point for complex issues related to OpenShift Virtualization, KubeVirt, networking, and storage.
- Automation: Develop and maintain automation scripts using Ansible, Terraform, or Golang (Infrastructure as Code).
Mandatory Qualifications & Experience:
- Senior: 6+ years / Principal: 8+ years in infrastructure engineering.
- Proven, hands-on experience with Red Hat OpenShift Virtualization in a production environment.
- Deep expertise in the core Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform (OCP 4.x+).
- Strong understanding of Kubernetes fundamentals and hands-on experience with Linux (RHEL, CentOS).
- Experience with infrastructure automation tools like Ansible or Terraform.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills are a must.
Highly Desirable Skills:
- Expert-level knowledge of VMware vSphere.
- Direct experience migrating VMs from VMware to OpenShift Virtualization.
- Proficiency in scripting (Bash, Python, Go).
- Red Hat certifications (e.g., RHCE, CKA, OpenShift Virtualization Specialist).
Location & Work Model:
- This role is hybrid, requiring 1 week per month in our Bengaluru office.
- We are prioritizing local Bengaluru candidates.
- Non-local candidates are welcome to apply if they are willing and able to meet the in-office requirement.
Contract Details:
