Your impact
You will play a pivotal role in a team of Network and Security Engineering professionals to design, manage, and deploy Intelsat's network/security infrastructure and associated technologies which support 2500+ users, services and products. You will provide network and security designs with appropriate redundancy, availability, scalability, safeguards, and manageability requirements needed for the continuing success of Intelsat's critical Enterprise, Satellite, Commercial Aviation datacenter and teleport network Infrastructure.
What you will do
- Lead roadmap projects for Network and Security Engineering team.
- Provide design, configuration, and testing capabilities for security and network aspects of new enterprise site/architecture deployments.
- Collaborate with various teams within the company like Innovation, IntelsatONE, Platforms, RF Engineering, Satellite Operations and Engineering, Commercial Aviation teams, Software Engineering in developing new services and products
- Provide input to the IT Engineering roadmap pertaining to Network and Security aspects and as required identify related gaps and propose mitigation techniques to close the gaps.
- Provide escalation technical support for Intelsat enterprise, satellite and CA infrastructure for network and security related issues.
- Troubleshoot ongoing network and security issues until resolution and maintain/develop procedures for optimizing support of internal engineering needs and projects.
- Participate in regularly scheduled week-long on-call engineer rotation to provide emergency Enterprise maintenance/trouble support.
- Perform staging, testing, installing, integrating, and documenting of the security and IP network architecture and related technologies and services.
- Execute and document planned and emergency maintenance evolutions, which will involve the use of Network Change Requests (NCR's) with detailed procedures for conducting the maintenance and handling failure scenarios.
- Assist in providing engineering standards and training to other members of the network engineering and network operations groups.
Your required experience/skills
- Four-year college degree or equivalent
- At least 8 years of hands-on experience with Cisco routers/switches
- At least 7 years of experience with firewalls
- Certifications from Cisco, Palo Alto Networks and/or Juniper Networks
- OSPF and BGP routing implementation and troubleshooting experience
- Experience in network and security implementations in AWS, Azure or other cloud platforms
- The role is subject to ITAR: candidates must be a US Person (this includes US Citizen Permanent Resident or Protected Individual such as an asylee or refugee).
