Job Description
As a Senior Presales Engineer, you will be the primary architect of complex, high-impact Land Mobile Radio (LMR) infrastructure projects. You will own the technical journey from initial scope definition to the final sale, serving as the definitive authority on technical solutions. This role demands a strategic leader who can manage customer expectations while delivering robust, cutting-edge designs that exceed requirements. Working within a high-octane team of sales, service, and technical experts, you will lead the charge in technical design. Your mission is to ensure our solutions are perfectly tailored to our customers' mission-critical needs.
Responsibilities:
Consultative guidance to customers and sales team
Customer requirements discovery
Technology strategy development
Radio coverage design and analysis
Equipment list generation
Developing comprehensive system designs and detailed technical diagrams
Calculation of power and networking requirements
Participation in proposal reviews and contract negotiations
Delivering compelling technical presentations to executive stakeholders
Coordination with the various functional teams (Systems Integration, Service, Sales, Product Groups) to ensure all business unit goals are addressed in our proposals and win-strategies
Crafting strategic implementation approaches and service plans to secure project wins
Meeting/exceeding customer requirements and providing value alternatives when requirements cannot be met
Managing to Motorola’s sales, revenue and margin goals
Driving all sole source & RFP (Request for Proposal) projects to completion managing the schedules of each project team member (engineering, proposal specialist, sales, and service)
Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree with 4+ years of sales, sales engineering, public safety experience
OR 8+ years of sales, sales engineering, public safety experience
Strong general knowledge of wireless communications fundamentals and voice/data architectures - both public and private (e.g. APCO P25, LTE, 802.11, 3G/4G) is highly desirable
Strong general knowledge of IP networking architecture, protocols and security is highly desirable
Knowledge of RF coverage predictions, traffic/capacity modeling, and related toolsets is an asset
Strong written and oral communications skills with the ability to present complex topics to technical and non-technical audiences
Ability to build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders
Willingness to think out of the box and challenge the status quo
Attention to detail and a flawless execution mindset
Location/Travel:
Preferred candidates will live in Western Region of United States
Must be willing to travel up to 25% of the time
Target Base Salary Range: $100,000 - $125,000 USD
