 Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced Senior Database Developer with a strong background in PL/SQL and Java to join our dynamic team in Houston. The ideal candidate will have over 8 years of experience in database development, optimization, and application integration, with a focus on delivering high-quality, scalable solutions.
Key Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and maintain PL/SQL procedures, functions, and packages for complex data processing.
• Collaborate with application developers to integrate Java applications with Oracle databases.
• Optimize SQL queries and database performance through efficient indexing, partitioning, and tuning techniques.
• Analyze and troubleshoot database-related issues, providing solutions in a timely manner.
• Work with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
• Implement and enforce best practices for database design, security, and data integrity.
• Mentor junior developers and provide technical guidance as needed.
• Stay updated with the latest industry trends and technologies related to database management and software development.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• 8+ years of experience in database development with a focus on PL/SQL and Oracle.
• Proficiency in Java programming, with experience in integrating Java applications with databases.
• Strong understanding of database architecture, design principles, and data modeling.
• Experience with database performance tuning and optimization techniques.
• Familiarity with data warehousing concepts and ETL processes is a plus.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with team members.

Preferred Skills:

• Knowledge of additional database technologies (e.g., MySQL, SQL Server).
• Experience with cloud-based database solutions (e.g., AWS RDS, Azure SQL Database).
• Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git) and Agile methodologies.
