High Value and International Payment crew sits within payments domain and part of BB Tech. Our purpose is to restore the trust of our customers by transforming the Payments services experiences provided by the Bank to 99.999% availability, greater agility and reliability.
Our team is composed of engineers and technology leaders, who bring in the right mix of skills to enable this transformation. We also work very closely with our business and operations colleagues to support these services which are critical to the Australian and Global economy.
Our team also works with various Business units of the bank in adhering to the Engineering and Tooling Standards, Delivering Continuous improvements using Cloud and AI.
As a Senior Platform Engineer, you’ll be working within a cross-functional squad responsible for the technical design, development, and rollout of key enhancements to our end-users. You’re constantly pushing the boundaries to help deliver outcomes that define future industry trends and your passion for outstanding user experience and ability to solve complex problems is key to developing high quality technical solutions. Also, you will be a strong advocate for best practices, capable of challenging and being challenged, to deliver the best technical solutions for our customers. With your rich blend of skillsets, you will contribute to the systems end-to-end as well as manage risk with safe and secure deployments.
To be successful in this role, some of the broad roles and responsibilities may include:

Work closely with Product owners, other Senior engineers and various stakeholders to enable our Cloud and AI journey.

Have a proven track record working in a public cloud environment; AWS would be preferred.

Are passionate about Cloud/DevSecOps/Automation/Infrastructure as Code and possess a keen interest to solve complex problems in a systematic approach.

Have expert experience in AWS Cloud, building SDKs for easy consumption, developer experience, lead the design, development, and implementation delivery using Agile practices with specific focus on deploying applications to multiple environments.

Excellent problem-solving skills. You will be required to analyse technical issues involving multiple system components with complex relationships

Hands on experience on application management like vulnerability patching for both on prem and on the cloud, certificates management, secrets management

Be available to support postproduction and critical incidents to ensure our customers are provided with continuous service and availability of our applications.

Mandatory skills

Experience with AWS services like EC2, VPC, S3, Identity and Access Management (IAM), Lamda, Cloud Watch, Secrets Manager, SNS.

Hands on experience on Cloud deployment using docker, GitHub actions, Kubernetes, Helm Charts, YAML.

Knowledge on Monitoring and Observability tools like AWS CloudWatch, Prometheus, Grafana, Prometheus, AppDynamics to ensure proactive issue detection, monitoring, administration of these tools.

Experience delivering scalable solutions on infrastructure as a code (IaC) using Terraform/AWS Cloud Formation.

Good understanding of DevOps and CI/CD tools like Github, GitHub Actions, Jenkins, TeamCity CI/CD pipeline, AWS CodePipeline and AWS CodeBuild to automate deployments.

Fundamental SRE knowledge and Familiarity with SRE practices and processes is an added advantage.

Experience and knowledge on Generative AI, Machine Learning are advantageous.

Proficient in Linux and Bash scripting, or PowerShell to automate tasks, manage configurations and troubleshooting essential.
