Heartflow is a medical technology company advancing the diagnosis and management of coronary artery disease, the #1 cause of death worldwide, using cutting-edge technology. The flagship product—an AI-driven, non-invasive cardiac test supported by the ACC/AHA Chest Pain Guidelines called the Heartflow FFRCT Analysis—provides a color-coded, 3D model of a patient’s coronary arteries indicating the impact blockages have on blood flow to the heart. Heartflow is the first AI-driven non-invasive integrated heart care solution across the CCTA pathway that helps clinicians identify stenoses in the coronary arteries (RoadMap™Analysis), assess coronary blood flow (FFRCT Analysis), and characterize and quantify coronary atherosclerosis (Plaque Analysis). Our pipeline of products is growing and so is our team; join us in helping to revolutionize precision heartcare.
Heartflow is a publicly traded company (HTFL) that has received international recognition for exceptional strides in healthcare innovation, is supported by medical societies around the world, cleared for use in the US, UK, Europe, Japan and Canada, and has been used for more than 750,000 patients worldwide.
We are building a new AWS foundation: new accounts, new Kubernetes clusters, and the supporting cloud services around them. Our existing applications run on AWS Lambda and Fargate, along with RDS, API Gateway, and related services, and are defined in AWS CDK. We are moving them onto the new platform.
You will join the Infrastructure Platform team, which owns three areas: cloud foundations, site reliability engineering (SRE), and developer experience. Your first big project will focus on the migration to Kubernetes. Over time the role broadens across these key areas of focus.
What You Will DoMigration (first project)- Contribute to migration patterns and reference implementations for moving CDK-based serverless applications to EKS, while supporting cross-account interoperability during the migration window.
- Translate existing CDK stacks into Terraform/Terragrunt, Helm, service templates, and developer portal integrations.
- Develop robust, scalable, and automated solutions for running event-driven, serverless-like workflows on Kubernetes, potentially utilizing technologies like KEDA or similar cloud-native tools.
- Plan data-tier and API cutovers that keep downtime and risk low.
- Work with application teams to understand their workloads, sequence their moves, and give them the tooling and documentation to migrate with little hand-holding.
- Benchmark migrated services, tune resource requests and limits, and confirm that observability and service-level objectives match or beat what they were before.
- Build and maintain cloud foundations: account structure, networking, IAM, and shared services, all as code.
- Contribute to SRE practices: SLOs, alerting, incident response, capacity and cost management, and an on-call rotation as the team matures.
- Improve developer experience through Harness pipelines, golden paths, and the Cortex service catalog, treating internal engineers as the platform's customers.
- Write standards, guardrails, and runbooks that other teams can follow without asking us.
- Support Linux and Windows systems where the platform requires them, with automation preferred over manual work.
- Several years of platform, infrastructure, SRE, or DevOps engineering, including at least one migration of production workloads to a new platform or architecture. Fargate or ECS to Kubernetes is the closest match; serverless to containers is also relevant.
- Strong working knowledge of Kubernetes on AWS (EKS): networking, security, scaling, and day-two operations.
- Solid AWS experience across compute (Lambda, ECS, EKS), data (RDS), API Gateway, VPC networking, and IAM.
- Production experience with Terraform, and comfort with Helm.
- Scripting and automation skills in Bash, Python, or Go.
- Hands-on experience with CI/CD systems and containers.
- Clear written and verbal communication, and a record of influencing technical decisions across teams.
- Experience with AWS CDK, including reading and refactoring existing stacks.
- Experience with KEDA or other event-driven scaling on Kubernetes.
- Experience with Terragrunt, Harness, or an internal developer portal such as Cortex or Backstage.
- Windows or Linux systems administration.
- Experience in a regulated environment such as healthcare, finance, or medical devices, including change control and audit evidence.
- Experience with monorepos.
- Prior ownership of a multi-quarter technical initiative.
You will shape a platform while it is still being built, starting with a well-defined, high-impact migration and growing into the broader foundation, reliability, and developer-experience work. The work supports products used in patient care, in an environment where reliability, security, and traceable change management matter.
A reasonable estimate of the base salary compensation range is $180,000 to $215,000, bonus, and equity. #LI-IB1 #LI-Hybrid

What We Do
Heartflow is the global leader in AI-driven coronary artery disease (CAD) management, transforming how CAD — the world’s leading cause of death — is diagnosed and treated. Our advanced technology generates personalized, precision 3D heart models from a single CT scan, providing clinicians with the clarity and confidence to deliver earlier, more effective treatments — transforming CAD into a disease that can be managed for life. Heartflow One is the only complete, non-invasive, precision coronary care platform providing patient insights throughout the guideline-directed CCTA pathway. The AI-driven platform — including Roadmap™ Analysis, FFRCT Analysis and Plaque Analysis — is supported by the ACC/AHA Chest Pain Guideline and backed by more than 600 peer-reviewed publications. With over 400,000 patients treated, more than 1,400 leading institutions adopting our solution, and 99.5% of U.S. lives covered — Heartflow is redefining the standard of coronary care. We're a global company, with employees across the United States, Europe and Japan. Our headquarters are in Mountain View, California, with additional offices in California, Texas, the UK, and Japan. We believe CAD shouldn’t be a silent threat. By making it screenable, diagnosable, and manageable, we’re changing the story of CAD, empowering clinicians to save lives and giving patients more time for what matters most.
