Description

The Senior People Advisor serves as a trusted partner to employees and management, supporting the full employee lifecycle and driving a positive, engaging workplace culture. As a key member of the People Team, you will operate as a strategic advisor and consultant, ensuring the delivery of consistent, high-quality people practices across our North American offices. This role is based in New York City and requires a minimum of three days per week onsite.


Responsibilities
  • People Consulting & Manager Enablement:
    • Act as a primary point of contact for managers and employees, advising on policy interpretation, employee relations, performance management, feedback, coaching, and talent development.
    • Partner with managers to ensure teams are performing well, and provide support on coaching, feedback, and performance management issues.
    • Deliver guidance on organizational culture and team effectiveness, leveraging best practices to foster a collaborative and high-performing environment.

  • Talent Development & Engagement:
    • Support the development and delivery of initiatives that drive employee growth, skill-building, and career development.
    • Collaborate with Talent Development and People Team COEs to support learning programs, succession planning, and leadership development.
    • Champion employee engagement by providing feedback to leadership and supporting initiatives that reinforce a positive employee value proposition.

  • Change Management & Culture:
    • Act as a culture champion by modeling organizational values and supporting the roll-out of change management initiatives.
    • Partner with internal teams to reinforce organizational culture and support hybrid work practices, ensuring alignment with company values and goals.

  • HR Operations & Process Improvement:
    • Work closely with HR Operations to ensure seamless HR processes, accurate employee data, and continuous process improvement.
    • Leverage digital tools and people analytics to inform decision-making and deliver actionable insights to business leaders.
    • Identify opportunities to automate or streamline backend HR processes, freeing up time for more strategic, employee-facing work.

Qualifications
  • Minimum of 4+ years of HR generalist experience with an emphasis on employee relations and a focus on employment laws and internal policies in the United States, Canada, and Mexico, ideally within professional services and/or financial services industries.
  • Strong consulting, coaching, and communication skills with the ability to influence and build trust at all levels.
  • Digitally fluent and adept with modern HR technologies, people analytics, and hybrid work tools, with a strong interest in leveraging emerging tech, particularly AI, to enhance workforce strategies and decision-making.
  • Demonstrated creativity, agility, and ability to lead through uncertainty and organizational change.
  • Collaborative, proactive, and solutions-oriented approach.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities with attention to detail.
  • Preference for candidates who are Hogan certified and experienced in administering and interpreting the Hogan Assessment suite.

Base Salary Range

$145,000 – $160,000 (compensation for this role will depend on several factors, including a candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies, and experience that may fall outside of the range listed).

Includes annualized bonus, 401k match, healthcare coverage and a broad range of additional benefits and perks.


Flexible Work Policy

Teneo believes in in-person collaboration when possible. For employees assigned to the New York office, the expectation is to work onsite a minimum of three times a week.
