Job Description

Treace Medical Concepts is seeking an experienced Senior Payroll Analyst to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for the accurate and timely execution of payroll operations across multiple states and pay cycles. You will oversee critical payroll processes, taxation policies, and compliance regulations while collaborating with internal stakeholders and external vendors. Additionally, you will contribute to the continuous improvement of payroll practices, ensuring Treace meets regulatory standards and provides exceptional service to employees.

Key Responsibilities

  • Enter payroll information, including time and attendance data, taxes, deductions, and adjustments for biweekly and monthly payrolls.
  • Verify new employee setup in compliance with regulatory and tax requirements.
  • Ensure accurate and timely payroll transmissions and conduct periodic data audits.
  • Manage federal, state, and local tax configurations, ensuring employee data aligns with relevant jurisdictions.
  • Build and maintain relationships with payroll vendors, auditors, and governmental agencies.
  • Monitor changes in legal, regulatory, or governmental requirements impacting payroll (e.g., wage and hour compliance, tax laws, benefits deductions).
  • Oversee data transfer between the payroll system and equity compensation system.
  • Ensure compliance with SOX internal controls.
  • Identify and implement process improvement initiatives and establish standards for new workflows.
  • Perform high-level reviews of commission payments submitted for payroll processing
  • Assist with reporting and audits for 401(k), debt compliance, worker’s compensation, and similar matters.
  • Address employee and manager inquiries while providing effective problem resolution.
  • Prepare payroll-related journal entries for accurate accounting.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree or Associate’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline, or equivalent experience required.
  • Experience with ADP, highly preferred
  • Certified Payroll Professional, preferred
  • Minimum five (5) years of direct payroll processing experience or combination of payroll and accounting experience
