Job Summary:
Experienced Painter with over 5 years in residential and commercial projects, skilled in surface preparation, advanced finishing techniques, and crew supervision. Proven ability to lead teams, manage timelines, and deliver high-quality results while maintaining safety and efficiency on job sites.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise and coordinate daily activities of painting crew members
- Plan and assign tasks based on project scope and deadlines
- Prepare surfaces (sanding, patching, priming) to ensure proper adhesion and finish
- Apply paint, coatings, stains, and finishes using brushes, rollers, and spray systems
- Inspect work to ensure consistency, quality, and compliance with specifications
- Train and mentor junior painters and new hires
- Estimate materials, track usage, and minimize waste
- Communicate with clients, contractors, and project managers regarding progress and expectations
- Enforce safety standards and proper use of protective equipment
- Troubleshoot issues such as uneven coatings, weather impacts, or surface defects
Skills and Qualifications:
- Advanced knowledge of painting techniques, materials, and finishes
- Strong leadership and team management skills
- Ability to read blueprints and project specifications
- Excellent attention to detail and quality control
- Time management and ability to handle multiple projects
- Problem-solving and decision-making abilities
- Proficiency with spray equipment and specialty coatings
Education & Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 5+ years of professional painting experience
- Prior experience leading or supervising a team preferred
- Certifications in safety (e.g., OSHA) are a plus
Working Conditions:
- Work performed indoors and outdoors in varying conditions
- Requires standing, climbing ladders/scaffolding, and lifting materials
- Use of safety gear due to exposure to fumes, dust, and chemicals
