We are looking for an engineer with optical background and test automation skills to develop and solve complex hardware and software testing problems. You will be empowered to make decisions and implement your creative ideas in order to advance Nokia’s corporate strategy. We are looking for a smart, dynamic person to work in our fast-paced manufacturing environment supporting Nokia’s highly innovative integrated products. This position has an emphasis on continuous improvement of our optical communication products, while maintaining Nokia's high quality of reliability recognized by our customers.
ResponsibilitiesSoftware
- Candidate should have proven skills and experience in a high-level Object Orientated language (VB.NET, Python, etc.). Nokia is using VB.NET and Python software to control custom and commercial test and measurement equipment using USB, GPIB, TCP/IP, and SPI interfaces. Nokia’s hardware communicates using COM and TCP/IP with embedded software / firmware.
- Candidate should have in-depth understanding of Test Software architecture and capable of designing new Test Software/Platform. Candidate should also be able to dig into existing code base, make improvements, and determine / develop changes that improve cycle time, quality, and reliability of our products
- Familiar with SQL database structure and basic SQL commands and programming. Familiar with data analysis methodology and data visualization such as JMP.
Optical Engineering
- Indepth understanding of optical transmission theories including Phase Modulated transmission, coherent detection, and noise compensation
- Fundamental understanding of coherent optical transport systems, modules, and components, including optical transceivers, line systems, tunable lasers, MZ modulators, photo detector, trans-impedance amplifier, and EDFAs, coherent digital signal processing
- Familiar with optical testing equipment, such as OSA, OSC, ONT, Wave Shaper, Tunable filter, Laser, VOA, be able to write equipment drivers. Candidate should be able to design customized test stations and develop fully automated test SW solutions.
- Candidate should be knowledgeable of digital and analog circuits, and able to interpret electrical schematics and comprehend technical documents.
Other
- Provide fault isolation guidance based on investigation of failures
- Attention to detail and willingness to produce detailed documentation
- Communication – Need to be able to interface with all levels of people from technicians to Vice Presidents in a professional matter and also need to communicate with contract manufacture
- Need to be proactive and self-motivating. Balancing production needs with continuous improvement and development initiatives
- Be able to work in a collaborative, team environment
You have:
- MS Degree or higher in Optical Engineering (highly preferred), Software Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Physics
- BS with 5+ years of experience (or) MS with 2-3 yrs in working in manufacturing environments.
- Excellent verbal and written communication in English and Thai
