THE OPPORTUNITY

The Senior Operations Specialist, Exceptions Processing assists branches with customer issues and ensures daily transactions are processed appropriately at the branch or corporate level. The role performs various operations support functions, including reviewing reports, preparing correspondence, participating in special projects, and supporting internal controls, policies, and mechanisms in accordance with industry practices, regulatory guidelines, and senior management direction. Performs all duties in accordance with the Company’s policies and procedures, all U.S. state and federal laws and regulations, wherein the Company operates.


HOW YOU’LL MAKE A DIFFERENCE

  • Process Automated Clearing House (ACH) transactions, large on-us and unusual items, stop payments, ATM, mobile, and remote deposit capture deposits, check claims, fraud alerts involving wires, ACH transactions, and debit cards, and wire transfers.
  • Perform assigned transactions with higher limits and, at times, approve or verify transactions on behalf of the manager within Operational Transactional Signing Authority.
  • Cross-train and support other teams’ functions.
  • Assist and support Branch Banking, Business Banking, Private Banking, Call Center, and Loan Servicing teams with customer service issues and back-office procedures related to shared branch deposits, product documentation and maintenance, and the correction and maintenance of multiple databases to ensure consistent customer information.
  • Meet and adhere to audit standards.
  • Support general internal and external client service by responding to inquiries and emails.
  • Perform other duties and projects as assigned.

WHAT YOU’LL BRING

  • Five or more years of related work experience or training in central operations, deposit operations, or branch operations.
  • Business or financial industry-related education through in-house training, formal schooling, or financial industry-related curricula.
  • Three to five years of credit card experience required if assigned to support credit cards.
  • Prior banking or credit card experience required.
  • Intermediate knowledge of Electronic Check Clearing House Organization (ECCHO) rules and National Automated Clearing House Association (NACHA) rules, as well as regulations applicable to credit cards and the Credit CARD Act.
  • Knowledge of and responsibility for compliance with applicable state and federal regulations and laws, including the Bank Secrecy Act (BSA), USA PATRIOT Act, Anti-Money Laundering (AML) requirements, and the Right to Financial Privacy Act (RFPA).
  • Basic knowledge of Fiserv, Premier Navigator, and WireXchange.
  • Intermediate computer skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Exceptional verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to carry out instructions, interpret documents, understand procedures, write reports and correspondence, and communicate clearly with customers and employees.
  • Ability to anticipate, identify, and manage program and client portfolio risks within the position’s scope and across the Company.
  • Ability to work with cross-functional teams, including Operations, Risk, IT, and executive management, and drive outcomes without direct authority.
  • Ability to understand, retain, and communicate routine factual information.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize workload.
  • Ability to understand and follow basic instructions and guidelines.
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.

The base salary ultimately offered is determined through a review of education, industry experience, training, knowledge, skills, abilities of the applicant in alignment with market data and other factors.
