Turn risk insight into action. Help Latitude move forward with confidence.

At Latitude, we make it possible—for our customers, our partners and our people. As we transform how we work and invest in technology to improve consumer lending, effective risk management helps us turn ambition into sustainable outcomes.

We’re looking for a Senior Operational Risk Specialist who brings sound judgement, commercial understanding and the confidence to challenge constructively. Whether you’re ready for your next move within Latitude or bringing experience from another organisation, this is an opportunity to influence decisions and strengthen how we manage risk across the business.

Your impact

Reporting to the Head of Group Operational Risk, you’ll provide independent advice and oversight as part of our second line of defence.

You’ll provide proactive, end-to-end operational risk advice across the risk lifecycle, supporting the identification, assessment, management and treatment of risks. Partner with the business to review controls, advise on material technology and product change risk, and provide constructive challenge.

You’ll:

  • Strengthen our operational risk oversight program, making tools, processes and guidance practical and useful for the business.
  • Provide risk advice and constructive challenge across strategic, regulatory, technology and product changes.
  • Lead targeted assurance reviews and deep-dives to assess control effectiveness, uncover issues and recommend improvements.
  • Turn risk data, indicators and trends into clear insights for senior leaders and risk committees.
  • Build risk awareness and capability through coaching, guidance and strong relationships with business teams.
  • Confidently influence and constructively challenge senior stakeholders, providing clear risk advice and insights to management and risk committees.

What you’ll bring

You can work through complex information, recognise what matters and explain it clearly. You build trust through collaboration while maintaining the independence to ask challenging questions and follow through on issues.

We’re looking for:

  • Extensive financial services experience, typically seven or more years, with a strong background in risk and controls.
  • Experience assessing internal controls and identifying practical ways to improve risk management.
  • Strong analytical skills, attention to detail and the ability to turn findings into clear recommendations.
  • Excellent writing, presentation and influencing skills, including communicating with senior leaders and Board or management risk committees.
  • An understanding of project management and change governance, supported by sound commercial judgement.
  • Familiarity with AI tools to support analysis, streamline routine tasks and prepare effective reporting.
  • Knowledge of consumer credit products would be highly regarded.
  • Experience with governance, risk and compliance systems, data analytics, technology risk, third-party risk or operational resilience would be desirable.

More possibilities for you

This role offers broad exposure across Latitude and the opportunity to influence how risk is understood and managed. You’ll work closely with senior stakeholders, contribute to important change initiatives and help turn independent oversight into meaningful improvements.

We believe doing great work starts with feeling supported.

We make it possible…

  • To spend more time with your loved ones—with an extra week of paid leave each year through our Take 5 initiative.
  • To enjoy greater flexibility—with a hybrid working model that combines working from home with connection in the office.
  • To put your wellbeing first—with Sonder, a 24/7 support app for mental and physical wellbeing.
  • To access financial benefits—with discounts on Latitude products and services.
