As a valued member of the accounting team, reporting directly to the VP, Controller & Treasurer, the Senior Oil & Gas Accountant will have responsibility for billing partners and customers as well as other daily oil and gas accounting duties. This includes ensuring accounts payable transactions are properly coded and billed to partners, reconciliation of accounts, monthly billing and related procedures, as well as working closely with other departments within the company.
Responsibilities:
- Daily and monthly processing of joint interest transactions.
- Management of vendor, joint interest partner and customer accounts.
- Assist with accounts payable process including coding and processing invoices.
- Reconciliation of general ledger accounts and subledgers.
- Performance of month-end billing procedures.
- Work with others within the company to ensure accurate and timely accounting for transactions.
- Assist with vendor, joint interest partner and customer inquiries.
- Perform ad hoc reporting and analysis of expense transactions.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance preferred
- Two (2) or more years of oil and gas experience
- Must be able to work independently
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and Word
- Knowledge of joint interest billing accounting
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to adapt to change, work in a team environment, and attend to competing priorities
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Analytical thinking
- Ability to use and leverage various accounting systems to efficiently complete assigned tasks

- Experience using Excalibur accounting system
- Experience using OpenInvoice invoicing platform
