Your impact
You will have the opportunity to be a leader of a team responsible for the design and implementation of Intelsat's growing datacenter presence around the world. As a Sr. Network Engineer at Intelsat, you will lead projects as well as assist on many team projects that will challenge your skills with routing, switching, data security, VoIP, and multi-media services. This position will work with and manage many vendor relationships, as well as having a voice during the purchase/quote process, as Intelsat's business continues to expand. You will provide Network and Information Security support and analysis, including Network device lifecycle, incident analysis and response, log analysis, threat and vulnerability management, and network and security architecture and design.
What you will do
- Lead network troubleshooting sessions
- Manage network device lifecycle tasks (OS upgrades, vulnerability patching, etc...)
- Coordinate change management outage activities with multiple groups/departments
- Resolve complex routing issues
- Collaborate with your team members and cross-departmental teams
- Identify opportunities to improve our Information Security posture
Your required experience/skills
- 4-year college degree
- A minimum of 3 years' experience with routing and switching technologies
- Military experience along with 5-7 years' experience in related job field will be considered in lieu of college degree

- Provide network and security operational support to an Enterprise community with a presence around the world, and manage the associated infrastructure relating to network, and security tools.
- Be a creative thinking team player, with openness, embracing diverse thinking and styles, with a positive attitude.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills in English

It would be nice if you had:
- Experience with routing protocols (OSPF, BGP, RIPv2, MPLS, PBR, HSRP, VRRP, GLBP)
- Experience with dual homing service providers and ISP redundancy
- Experience working with Cisco hardware including switches, routers, ASRs, ASA, FWSM, IPS, load balancers, Nexus
- Experience with F5 load balancing and geographical load balancing is a plus
- Experience with security protocols, TACACS, RADIUS, different flavors of VPN and remote access.
- Experience with Telco services, T1, DS3, SONET, OC3 - 192

Other Job Info:
- Identify and communicate improvements to processes and technologies to meet Intelsat's availability, reliability, risk mitigation and cost requirements.
- Provide Network and Security Engineering services to enhance and grow Intelsat's data network.
- Provide input to the IT Engineering roadmap pertaining to Network and Information Security that clearly identifies gaps and mitigation techniques to close the gaps.
- Contribute to the technical understanding and promotion of new and existing Network and Information Security standards and solutions.
- Assist in conducting periodic internal and external Network and Information Security audits and assessments.
