Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and optimize Cisco ACI fabric environments, including application network profiles, endpoint groups, and contracts
- Configure and manage traditional Cisco IOS-based networking equipment, including routers, switches, and firewalls
- Develop and maintain network architecture documentation, including detailed network diagrams, configurations, and standard operating procedures
- Lead network migrations, upgrades, and expansion projects with minimal disruption to business operations
- Troubleshoot complex network issues across both ACI and traditional network environments
- Implement and maintain network security policies, protocols, and best practices
- Perform regular network audits and optimization to ensure optimal performance, security, and reliability
- Establish network monitoring solutions and respond to alerts to maintain high network availability
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior network engineers
- Create and maintain disaster recovery plans for network infrastructure
- Participate in after-hours on-call rotation for critical network support
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
- 8+ years of experience in network engineering roles, with at least 5 years focused on Cisco technologies
- Proven experience implementing and managing Cisco ACI environments
- Deep understanding of Cisco IOS configuration and troubleshooting
- Strong knowledge of networking protocols and concepts (TCP/IP, OSPF, BGP, EIGRP, VLANs, VRF, etc.)
- Current Cisco certifications (CCIE preferred)
- Proficiency in implementing and managing network security solutions
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage multiple priorities
Additional skills
- Experience with other SDN solutions beyond Cisco ACI (e.g. VMware NSX)
- Experience with network automation tools and scripting (Python, Ansible, etc.)
- Knowledge of cloud networking
- Familiarity with containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes)
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines for network automation
- Understanding of DevOps practices and tools
- ITIL certification or experience with ITIL frameworks
- Experience with network performance analysis tools
- Familiarity with load balancers and application delivery controllers
- Experience with SD-WAN technologies
