Job Description
Purpose of the role
The Senior Network Engineer is responsible for supporting the design, configuration, monitoring and maintenance of network hardware, systems, and software; including preparing any documentation for future reference and ensuring communication regarding network security and other issues is provided timely.
Accountabilities
Working in partnership with IAG Tech and the business to:
- Be the technical network engineer in resolving complex service incidents, applying diagnosis, maintenance, change and configuration control attributes to bring about a resolution.
- Consistently perform and deliver outputs within the service contract time constraints (KPI’s & OLAs/SLA’s).
- Analyze traffic behaviours, identify and resolve any congestion or traffic issues.
- Operations Management: Ensure all escalated requests are handled in line within the agreed service levels and are handled efficiently and effectively. Ensure customer communication is managed effectively and in line with customer expectation and any specific contractual SLA/OLA agreements. Perform network administration activities to ensure the smooth operation of services across multiple platforms. Diagnose and support with recovery activities for P1 and P2 incidents to enable services to operate.
- Process Improvement: Support the time by reviewing and continually improving processes. Carry out network capacity reviews and provide a permanent solution. Drive automation to reduce implementation failures, manual tasks, and therefore improve overall network performance and availability. Perform post incident diagnosis, train team members and share knowledge to improve network efficiency.

Stakeholder Management: Effectively manage and coordinate internal and external relationships to meet expectations on change deployment timelines and processes. Contribute to the planning of network infrastructure software releases and schedule configuration changes accordingly to avoid network downtime for customers.
Qualifications
Must Haves:
- 5+ years of hands-on experience as a Network Engineer.
- Two distinct roles available: one for a Cisco specialist and one for a Juniper specialist.
- For the Cisco role: CCNA and CCNP certifications with 5 years of Cisco Routing/Switching experience.
- For the Juniper role: 3 years of Juniper network experience.
- Checkpoint Firewall expertise (3 years) for both roles.
- Strong experience in incident and problem management in a 24/7 global environment.
- Knowledge of ITIL processes (certification or hands-on experience).
- Ability to manage and troubleshoot various network devices, including Access Points and switches.
Nice to Haves:
- Experience with AWS/Cloud technologies and Ansible for automation.
- CISSP certification and familiarity with Windows and Linux environments.
- Knowledge of network design (HLD/LLD) and experience with load balancers and proxy servers.
