**ACTIVE TS/SCI SECURITY CLEARANCE REQUIRED**
Our work depends on a Sr. Network Engineer with TS/SCI security clearance and willing to take CI Polygraph in joining our team to support our intelligence customer activities in Springfield, VA or St. Louis, MO.
What you get to do every day:
- Support customer's Data Center network, application delivery, and network security environments to include operations and maintenance (O&M), system integration/deployment and solution development/design
- Provide tier III SME level support within the incident management process
- Work independently with project stakeholders, system owners, project managers, and technical staff to deploy or enhance IT solutions
- Coordinate with project staff for solution development and deployment while managing project aspects within applicable technical area of responsibility
- Collaborate with system engineers across teams and disciplines to ensure solutions meet established technical goals and are deployed within established timelines
- Evaluates new network technologies and makes recommendations to stakeholders regarding the integration of these technologies into the existing network
- Develops and implements methodologies for analysis, testing, and support of LAN and WAN networks
- Diagnosing hardware and software problems and replacing defective components
- Support operations and maintain activities and administer networks including hardware, systems software, applications software, and all configurations
- Ensure systems are integrated with existing performance and availability management framework
- Schedule and coordinate system changes within the established change management framework
- Evaluate new system hardware and software to ensure optimal integration with existing hardware and compliance with customer standards
- Prepare technical proposals for presentation to the engineering review boards for adding new technologies to the network
- Perform a full range of upgrades in accordance with existing network architecture
- Review user requests for upgrades or additions to the network to assess impact on network performance and provide advice and guidance on the most practical technical approach to meeting user requirements
- Perform long term O&M activities to include tier 3 troubleshooting and problem resolution
- Interface with external tier 4 support staff and vendor support as required for problem resolution
- Utilize complex network analysis tools to identify and correct problems in the network while maintaining logs and records associated with reported problems or situations
- Prepare troubleshooting procedures for restoring the network to optimal performance levels
- Develop and document standard operating procedures (SOP) for use by technical support staff
- Provide fault management for the network and supports performance management functions.
What you need:
- 10 years of experience preferred with several years focusing specifically on data center networking and technologies
- SME level understanding and experience with dynamic routing protocols to include OSPF and BGP
- SME level understanding of data center technologies. Familiarity with EVPN, VXLAN, Cisco vPC, ACI, F5 load balancing and RSTP is a plus
- Understanding and experience analyzing TCP/UDP application flow using external network analyzers along with built-in network switch/router diagnostic tools
- Familiarity with DOD STIGs and SD-WAN
- Experience with MS Visio and documenting network architectures and application flows
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Effective at communicating technical ideas through presentations, documentation, meetings
- Learn and evaluate new technologies
- Responsible for managing their own projects from start to finish so initiative, time management, and attention to detail are critical traits and skills
What would make you stand out:
- Professional or expert level certifications (at a minimum CCNP, F5-CTS or JNCIP) - CCIE/F5-CSE/JNCIE preferred
- Experience with Cisco, F5, Juniper and Palo Alto hardware and operating systems is a plus

- Compensation is unique to each candidate and relative to the skills and experience they bring to the position. The salary range for this position is typically $130-$140k. What We Do
D2 Consulting provides services to the Federal Government focused in the following three area's We leverage D2 Consulting engineering, operations and governance best practices to efficiently and effectively deploy, maintain and continuously improve IT services and solutions. This includes not only engineering solutions such as VDI and providing direct support to operations but also deploying the tools to instrument and maintain Enterprise performance and availability (including ITSM and Enterprise Management Tools). Protect & Secure: This is our cyber security practice, which includes functions like audit and information assurance, as well as the traditional mechanics of securing IT systems and services. We have experience working with the Government to better manage risk to help move the accreditation process along. This is especially true with respect to adapting accreditation controls to a cloud environment. Cloud Migration and Data Center modernization/consolidation: This area is focused on cloud migration and adoption as well as data center consolidation. We work to ensure that infrastructure requirements are implemented correctly, according to best practices and in a timely manner.
