Role Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Network Engineer to join our dynamic team. As a Senior Network Engineer you will play a crucial role in designing, implementing, and maintaining our network & security infrastructure. You will be responsible for ensuring the security, integrity, and availability of our systems, applications, and data through effective firewall management and monitoring.
Key Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and maintain complex datacenter switching and routing infrastructure, ensuring high levels of reliability and security.
  • Perform regular and specialized maintenance operations on the datacenter, demonstrating a high degree of professionalism and attention to detail.
  • Plan, execute, and optimize LAN design and wireless technology solutions, considering the unique requirements of the organization.
  • Design, configure, and deploy firewall solutions to protect the organization's network infrastructure from unauthorized access and security threats.
  • Perform regular firewall administration tasks, including rule management, access control, and policy configuration.
  • Monitor network performance, proactively addressing bottlenecks and inefficiencies to optimize functionality, and promptly investigate and resolve network security incidents.
  • Conduct ongoing network performance monitoring, analysis, and troubleshooting to proactively identify and resolve potential issues, ensuring optimal network functionality.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to other IT teams regarding firewall-related issues and security configurations.
  • Investigate and resolve network security incidents and breaches in a timely manner.
  • Collaborate effectively with a global team of network engineers, fostering an environment of knowledge sharing and teamwork across diverse backgrounds and timezones.
  • Develop comprehensive documentation for network configurations, processes, and procedures, enabling efficient collaboration and knowledge transfer amongst team members.
  • Stay abreast of industry trends and emerging technologies, providing recommendations for network enhancement and optimization.


Knowledge and Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).


Work Experience

  • Proven experience (8+ years) as a Network Engineer or Security Engineer, with hands-on experience in designing, implementing, and managing network security solutions.


Key Qualifications/Requirements

  • Extensive hands-on experience in datacenter switching, routing, and general maintenance operations, demonstrating expertise in managing complex network infrastructures.
  • Exceptional knowledge and experience in LAN design, maintenance, and optimization, with a focus on wireless technology, to deliver highly reliable and efficient network solutions.
  • Strong understanding of network protocols, routing, switching, TCP/IP stack, and hands-on experience with network troubleshooting tools and techniques.
  • Strong knowledge of Fortigate firewall technologies.
  • Knowledge in implementing and managing VPNs and secure remote access solutions.
  • Strong proficiency in documentation, demonstrating meticulous attention to detail and the ability to produce clear and concise technical documents.
  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities, with a proactive mindset to identify and resolve network issues promptly.
  • Ability to effectively manage time and prioritize tasks, ensuring timely delivery of projects and meeting project deadlines.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, enabling effective collaboration with global team members from diverse backgrounds.
  • Professional certifications such as Cisco CCNP or CCIE, Fortinet NSE4 are highly desirable, demonstrating a commitment to professional development.
  • Professional certifications in wireless technologies is a plus.
  • Professional certifications or practical experience in cloud networking technologies is a plus.
  • Knowledge of automation tools and/or scripting languages (e.g., Bash, Python) is a plus.
  • Excellent English language skills, both written and spoken.
  • Solid German language skills, both written and spoken, is of advantage.
